I know this sounds crazy because many people are trying to avoid soft resets but I would like the ability to schedule an automatic soft reset every XX days. I find that if I dont do this, my NVFS cache (according to Memory Info) gets very low, so low in fact that I cannot even complete the 600k speed test. Blazer tells me I am out of memory. After soft resets I find that I get much more NVFS cache back.

So, is there a program to do this?

    Thanks for your help.

I usually just soft reset every few days using ZLauncher. One plus is that with ZL you dont have to remove the battery cover. There is a SOFT RESET selection in the main menu.

I have not heard of anything that would automate the process for you.

just install aim, it will restart every hour or so (some of them will be in broken loops and you will have to do a hard reset)

LookAtMe is freeware and will allow you to schedule the launching of any given applications. It won't do anything in the application once it's launched.

mReset is freeware and will reset the device when launched without requiring any additional user input. (Unlike SoftReset, or the LauncerX or ZLauncher functions.)

Together these two apps will do what you're asking. I treohelper set to automatically turn the phone on after reset except for 0245-0315. I have lookatme reset my device at 0255, let my scheduled daily backups, alarm cleanup, mailbox export to sd card, etc all go on, and then at 0320, I reset again and launch Verichat to force the data connection back on.

I do other things about quieting alarms and appropriate ringer management and whatnot, but that way, I've only got a 25min downtime in the middle of the night and otherwise if someone needs to reach me for an emergency or whatnot my phone is effectively always accessible.
