Has anyone gotten the video's from Tivo to Go working on their Treo 650?

If so, how do they look?

Amazon has the series 2 tivo for $79 after rebate, but I don't want to get it unless the Tivo to Go videos will play on the palm.

    Fingers crossed.

I haven't tried Tivo-to-go yet, but spend the $79 anyway. Trust me, once you get used to watching TiVo, you'll never want to go back to watching TV. I was in New York over the weekend, and the lack of TiVo where we were staying drove me crazy. It's addicting.

Anyway, to address your question, the most I can say is maybe. The T-T-G recordings are MPEG-2 encoded. So if there's a media player for the Treo that handles MPEG-2, or a PC / Mac conversion tool to convert MPEG-2 to something the Treo will play, it should work.

Yes, definately get the TiVo. There's no turning back once you've gone TiVo. Watching what you want when you want and in ~2/3 the time (skip commercials) changes your life. No more planning to be home for your favorite show or monkeying with tapes. I'll definately be watching this thread for updates viewing on T650 though.

Warning: Once you start with DVR (I have 2 replays), life will not be the same. You will no longer be able to watch television in real time. I haven't seen a commercial in years.

Does TTG have any form of DRM? If you can convert TTG recordings to AVIs with MPEG-4 video/MP3 audio, MMPlayer will work for you. It sounds like TTG recordings are MPEG-2, which is easily converted, but if they are encrypted/DRMed it might not be so easy.

I use MythTV for all of my PVR functionality and convert recordings using avidemux for Treo playback. (Although I don't do it often since I'm rarely in a situation where I can watch video on my Treo but don't have access to my recordings in original form.)

I use BeyondTV as my DVR. Great product (though everyone here already knows I think that, I sure plug it enough! )

TivoToGo has DRM so I doubt you could easily play it on your Palm.

Becareful which DVR solution you choose. One's like the Tivo have such control it's hard to use the recordings in other ways, plus Tivo is about to add pop-up ads for when you skip commercials.

There's about to be a slew of DVR options on the market, keep your eye open.

I currently use BeyondTV and view on my TV with PrismIQ (buggy software, do not purchase) but there are other TV audio in devices that will plug into your network.

Thomas, why'd you go with Prism instead of just going with a cable that makes your TV a monitor on your PC?

PrismIQ eh? I've got one of them.....a product that had great potential, but bad execution. I'm holding out for a Media PC, using Myth. Then my Prismiq might have some value again.....

I want a DVR with it's own HD and CD/DVD burner and Network connection (both wired and unwired) with Tivo like software to skip "live TV" BUT with NO DRM and which uses one of the free guides.
