Ok, so here's the deal. Pocke Tunes won't play my mp3 ringers convert to ROM by lightwav. I use lightwav to play mp3 ringers and I use the option to convert the mp3s to the Interal ROM. However, all of a sudden the ROM mp3 ringers won't work (while SD card mp3 ringers still do). So to trace the error source, I attempted to play the ROM mp3 ringers directly with Pocket Tunes off the Internal ROM. I get this message:

"Error: This file could not be opened. It could be corrupted, or it could be restricted to only allow playback on certain devices."

I've tried the following unsuccessfull solutions:
    1. Hard reset and reload all applications.
    2. Reinstall Ptunes 3.0.8

    Anybody have any advice??

    Thanks,
    Physician User

Physician User...my guess is it's an issue with Lightwav. Have you contacted them?

Clarence, wow, that was outta left field

    Here the answer.
The problem is that palm combine the database, with the application. Pocktune can only see Databases "inside ram" that have a creator ID of TNpt. The file must also have a pdb extension.

YOu can use a file editor to change the name, and change the Creator ID.

of YOu can use Palm Par program

Using this program you can convert any mp3 file on you computer to a pdb file for you treo.

The file can be downloaded here
    http://www.djw.org/product/palm/par/

The command to convert a song is
    1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9
    par c -a "stream" song.pdb SongName.mp3 strm TNpt c:\songs\song.mp3
    1Program -> 2"convert" -> 3 'Archive file" -> 4"A stream file" -> 5"Name of file On device" -> 6"Name pocket tune will reconize" -> 7 "Stream File" -> 8 "Pocket tune Creator ID" -> 9 "location of song you want to convert"
