OK. I use MMplayer and Ptunes and love what they add to the device. But with the onslaught of all of these new music/movie download sites, one of the biggest issues (at least with me) is how to get DRM and licensed files to my T650.

So I got to thinking (This could be dangerous, I know ) it would have been really cool if P1 would have had the foresight to add a multimedia player that would be able to log into a P1 multimedia site (movies may be a bit much, but offline at your PC is a possibilty) to download the files directly to the phone. They could even call it TreoTunes, MultimeTreo or TreoCast. (<<-Cool Names, huh?) I mean, let's take advantage of the capabilities of this thing! An app for the PC would also allow you to take advantage of them on your home/work PC.

This may just be a shot in the dark, but how cool would that be? I know that there is a constant debate over my Treo is better than you Ipod/my Ipod deserves a shrine, but truth be told, I love to play tunes on my Treo, and this would be a great feature. Granted, I don't go jogging with my Treo, but for killing time/playing in the car, this would be awesome.

Just my 2 cents. Any thoughts?

Does sound really neat. Technically, a program/service like this could still be developed by a third party, right?

Isn't wapswap.com your place? Start advertising and develop the stuff. Great ideas anyway.

How about iTunes for Treo? I would happily pay $$$ for this software. Especially if you can play the songs bought in the iTunes Music Store. I know, Apple will never do it, but one can dare to dream! Moto is supposed to be coming out with an iTunes phone.

Supposedly P-Tunes is working on the DRM issues with WMA files. That would even be cool. Say what you want about Napster, but with the ability to play whatever I want on my Treo is cool. Hurry up NormSoft!!!!
