    Hi all...

As usual, you ask and we deliver.

Nutshell has made much requested improvements to its belt case for the Treo 650.

    The changes include:
    1. Increasing the depth of the side cut-aways to make it easier to get at the rocker switch and extract the Treo from the case.
    2. Providing a hole in the base for plugging in accessories.
    3. Easing the case to make it an even better fit for the Treo 650.

As usual, our cases come with a three year warranty - and our world reknowned quality customer service.

    All the best,

Will a skinned Treo 650 fit in this case?

If not - can you make a model that does?

If not can you suggest a model you do make already for some different phone which will fit a skinned Treo 650?

    Thanks,

    John

I wish I had known you were going to do this before I bought one about a month ago. Excellent product though.

I would love to see your case that a skinned Treo would fit in.

Darn...now I feel bad...let's see if we can make you guys smile.

If I can get a skin to work with I'll make sure we deliver a case that works.

    OK?

Does anyone have the new improved Nutshell? I am looking at purchasing this case for my 650. How much protection is there for the screen? I'd like to get some overall opinions on the case.

    Thanks,

I ordered one on the 24th so I presume I'll get the new model. I'll report back when I get it. This is my fourth Nutshell case. I am a "leather nut" and very fussy about what I use. Nutshell is a first rate company and their products are also.

I just received my Nutshell, and like all the other Nutshells I own, it is a first rate job. It fits the 650 like a glove, but it is easy to slide the unit in and out. There are cutouts for the headphone jack and power cord. I ordered the front pouch, to hold my Mapopolis NavCard or my spare battery, and the top closure. The closure reaches down to the outside pouch and will keep anyting in the poch from falling out. You can't sync from the case. I'm very happy with it.

The case is snug enough so that I think you would have trouble sliding it in and out with egrips on it. The screen is fully protected.

I purchased one back in December. Well made case, but mine was just too tight. Could never get the phone out of the case without pushing a button. I tried a number of things to stretch the case, but to no avail. This included shoving an ipod in it overnight (not easy to do with a gen 1 ipod), wetting it to try and stretch it, etc... Eventually, I just gave up.

Sounds like the new version might have resolved this issue by loosening up the case.

I have the older case (which was designed for the 600, i believe) and I have egrips on my 650. Had to take off the big egrip panel off of the back ( the one on the battery panel) Left the remainder of the egrips on, and actually, it is the ones on the side that really give the phone the tactile feel. Fits fine in this way. The newer one sounds like it is a little less snug so should be just fine as well.

You kinda have to have TreoGuard or some such program to keep from answering the phone every time you slide it out of the case.

I like it enough such that I believe that I will order the new one so that I will be able to use it with the palm hybrid headphones. (Currently, I just stick the phone in the case upside down to do so)

I just want to say I love, love, love this case
    http://www.tuff-as-nuts.com/treo-650-belt-case.html

I have looked at 50 different cases/holsters and bought a total of 6 cases/holsters for my treo 650 and either gave away or returned every one of them.

Here are the benefits of this case:

    1) Extremely well made, I could see this case lasting 10 years
    2) It is good looking (most cases look silly and cheap)
    3) It is easy to take the phone on/off of the hip, easier than any case I've ever used.
    4) You dont need to take the case off when sitting in a snug seat (usualy when you get in a car you set the phone where you can get to it quick and with most cases you take the case clip off your hip because its uncomfortable when it presses against you, not the Nutshell case, you forget its even there)
    5) You have zero fear of the phone coming out of the case or the case coming apart (I wouldnt jog in the park with any case but a nutshell)
    6) The case keeps the phone close to your body (so many cases stick the phone out so far because the case is so fat you look like your hidding a fax under your shirt)

I was sceptical when I saw the cases on the nutshell website, I was worried I wouldnt like the way the case looked when I got it but I was very pleasently surprised, it was better looking than all the other cases. heres my review starting on 4-4-05 http://www.pdaphonehome.com/forums/...20&pagenumber=3

James - does your nutshell have the belt clip or belt loop. In your opinion, what are the advantages/disadvantages of the loop vs. the clip?

    YoungTurk
  19. #19
    I have the clip type:
    1) You can take the case on/off without taking your belt off
    2) You can only wear the case vertical

    Belt loop type:
    1) You can wear the case horizontal or vertical
    2) Its even more comfortable than the clip type (which is still very comfortable)
    3) Its easier to slip you belt through the belt type than sliding the rigid clip onto the belt.

Yes I have the Nutshell with the closer on top but you can tuck the velcro flap out of the way during non-physical activity.

This type of closer is awesome because:
    1) Its more secure than a magnetic closer
    2) Its easier to use than a button closer (you just slap the closer in the general direction and its shut)
    3) Nutshell makes the flap long enough to tuck out of the way so your not making velcro noise trying to look at the treo in the middle of a meeting.

Feel free to ask any questions as I feel obligated to promote Nutshell for making such a great product.
