FYI, TomTom is showing the Navigator 5 GPS on their web site. It's listed as compatible with the Treo 650 and "available soon".

As far as upgrades I noticed they offer the software upgrade from the prior version to Navigator 2004 for $53. I'd guess the upgrade from 2004 to 5 will be about the same.

There have been press releases dating from CeBIT in early March indicating that the software upgrade to version 5 would be free for those with Navigator 2004, but that the free upgrade may not include updated maps. Nothing is certain until it is released since they seem to have backtracked on some statements in their press items this past month.

i will gladly pay for new maps. The current ones are "ok" but some of the navteq seems better on maps.google.com

The upgrade from 2004 to 5 is supposed to be free. I emailed support and got a response from them, saying so. I posted it in an earlier thread.

There's a review of Navigator 5 (UK version) up at

It has the one feature that most everyone has been waiting for:

"...seamless integration with a PDA’s contacts folder..."

I skimmed through the UK review, but it does not mention anything about the contact integration.. I was a bit disappointed.. hopefully the reviewer just missed the feature, not that 5 lacks it.

I wrote a email to TomTom's tech support about when it would be available and they responded with a target date of May 15.
