    No kidding.

It's sad you think that getting ahead sucking up is better than getting ahead through hard work.

That is pretty crappy...so to speak.

Ahhhhhh...this thread has needs to be flushed down the toilet.

Personally I think if you must use vulgarity to express an opinion then just use it and pay the consequences in social ramification. In an effort to maintain a polite and non offensive site the moderators have chosen to restrict language to no vulgar expletives. I use some of the restricted words in my communications but I can by choice express my ideas just fine with out them. After all a persons choice of words says a lot about the person.
Final note on the subject, this is not a matter of free speech. Although this is a public forum it is owned and maintained by people. To me it is like a playground on the grounds of a business. The public could have access to the playground, but they donít own it. The owner has every right to set the rules of use.
I tip my hat to the moderator that stands by his convictions, even if I donít agree with them, (although I do in this case).

I love posts like this...thx STDafy...

"if you must use vulgarity to express an opinion then just use it and pay the consequences in social ramification"

Which is just doublespeak for the suppression of disenting opinion because we don't like how it said.

"In an effort to maintain a polite and non offensive site the moderators have chosen to restrict language to no vulgar expletives."

Well, it's too late for that...certain moderators have already contributed (and therefore supported) the discussion of "pornogrpahy". I am sure that offends people too.

And again, please point out the vulgarity, which is usually saved for the "Seven Dirty Words" ala George Carlin.

Final note on the subject, this is not a matter of free speech.

This is what people say when it is exactly a matter of free speech. I agree that this forum is "owned" by someone, but it exists and thrives due to members. And unless you can state specific T&Cs about language, it leads to inconsistent enforcement, which in the end is a freedom of speech issue.

Take a look around. How many people do you see that are getting ahead? They all have learned to get along with the people that have control. Some people that are not getting ahead call it sucking up. This can only be an attempt to stop others from using a skill that they don't have.
Next time you should try to suck up first instead of lamenting that someone else beat you to it.
Wow. What a hostile response....I guess, just like word selection, it says a lot about you. There was a smiley on that post...

Boy, if someone didn't like you tone, they might tell you to go intercourse yourself.

(note: this is a joke joke joke joke....just making fun language aspect of the thread...thought police, please stand down. ;-) :-) Many smileys included for good measure).

And I should lighten up.... Read your own words.
I did not attack. What I tried to say is that it is a good idea to try and get along with those in control before getting up set that they are in control and a little suck up isnít so bad. Purhaps I could have worded it better. Maybe I needed to use smiley's instead of words? Itís a shame that smiley's take the place of smiles. I meant no disrespect to Woof. I thought he expressed his POV very well. Shouldn't I be able to disagree with him without others attacking my POV? To disagee is not an attack. Around here attacks are most often acompanied by personal afronts. Like "go ____ yourself" regardless of the smiley this is an attack and inapropriate.
As far as suck up (being nice with people) rather than working hard, I never said or sugested that. I would not expect a person that is hard to get along with to go very far without pleasing the people in charge. It takes hard work and getting along with other people.
Don't attack again, I got it some think that their hard work exempts them from being polite.

Wow, what is this country coming to? Cleanse our minds, so we all have the same sanitary brains, Take away my Radio in the interest of protecting "the Kids", now trying to regulate my HBO and cable TV, and now the internet....Please, someone do something before the right wing conservitive brainwash the whole country into being robotic, uncreative, political correct carbon copies of what is "considered" to be the status quo.

    ahhhhhhh that reminds me

How do you catch a polar bear?

    http://7art-screensavers.com/screens...n-the-nose.jpg

First, you cut a large, round hole in the ice. Next, you place enough peas around the hole to completely surround the hole. Then, when the polar bear comes to take a pea, you kick him in the icehole.

This thread is proof positive that PalmOne is seriously falling down on the job by not having version 7XX rumors out by now to occupy our wandering minds....
Remember, the "P" in PDA stands for personal.

Well now... this thread has certainly lost its usefulness.

As far as language goes, here's the standard I generally use: would I want my mother (or my kids) to hear that? Hopefully, most of you wouldn't want to subject dear old mom it either.

I have a job to do. Until such time that marcus thinks I'm not doing it well, I will continue to do it the way I always have. If that's not acceptable to some, then I refer them to this from the Terms of Use:

Lordy lordy lordy...the skin is as thin as the ice in April...
So even if you use a smiley, it's an attack and inappropriate? Better alert about 100,000 users/post/threads in which this takes place...

GMAFB, Stormtropper. This is the internet, and if you can't see the joke in all of this thread, then that is sad.

"To disagee is not an attack."

True...but you say tomato, I say tomahto. You say that you are not attacking, just disagreeing. Well, I think I am just disagreeing, not attacking. Do you see this is not a one-way street? It's your/mine interpretation. If you put a strong opinion out there, it may get challenged, and in a jovial manner.

Don't cry "Waaa, I'm being attacked by the evil druids of non-conformist thought" when it happens; this is not about you - it's about the posts and the thread.

Don't attack again, I got it some think that their hard work exempts them from being polite.

Is that a threat? Sure sounds like it... I think I better reach in my "vulgar" and "impolite" vocabulary and say "I double-dog-dare you to threaten me again!" :-)

As for sucking up, who, where, and what direction you suck is completely is completely up to you. :-)

VersaMail is cr%@ (crap was censored for MarkEagle) on the Treo 650. It is apparently a Palm Inc product and not a Handspring product. It worked fine on all of my Palm Inc handhelds, I am surprised that they release it like this on the Treo 650. What did the older Handspring products use before VersaMail? I wished they had put WebPro 3.5 on the 650 instead of the limited Blazer product.
