Screenshot5 from http://www.linkesoft.com works quite well (I haven't tested it on a Treo 650, though, but on a lot of other devices).

If you could adjust the size of the eventbar to match the titlebar and to keep some space between eventbar and buttons, I would indeed like to put it on our site.

It's bigger because it includes a lowres version for each image which we do not include via Skinner Desktop. Nothing you can do about it, though. If you want to send me the bitmaps of the skin (as zip, thank you ;-)) I can import them to Skinner Desktop and save it with a smaller size.

Snap is free and works well.

What do you consider the event bar and title bar?

I'll make the adjustments and send you the bitmaps.

The title bar is the one that is always visible and where the time, etc, is printed in (bitmap titlebar.bmp). The event bar is optional and contains information about the current or next event according to your datebook (bitmap eventbar.bmp). You can set your Treo to display the event bar via the preferences of the Phone app.

Can I just crop the eventbar BMP or does it need to remain the same size as the original in order to create the file properly? In which case I guess I just add some green (or whatever color is set to transparent) to the top and bottom?

If the eventbar is the same size as the original, it should have enough space already. Maybe there is another problem, can you just send me the bitmaps and I will reassemble them.

Hello again. I put the skin that I created and you modifed onto my Treo - the event bar still overlaps the buttons. I also noticed that another skin (the brushed aluminum OSX v2) which has buttons that are the "full size" has the same issue on my Treo. Maybe my Treo is a little "off" or maybe the event bar needs to be made smaller.

Load the Skinner.prc file and the new skin(s) onto your treo. Run the Skinner program, click the Enable checkbox, choose the skin you want, push the green phone button and you'll find the new skin loaded.

Is it possible to add a backround image?

There are some skins that 'fake' a background image by tiling it up as button background.

You have 12 buttons, each 102x46 pixels (width x height). Divide your "background" image (306x184 pixels) into 12 parts, each 102x46 pixels large.

Run Skinner Desktop, export the bitmaps. Open the button images in Photoshop (or your application of choice) and paste the tiles generated previously into the appropriate button images. Save and import in Skinner Desktop, save skin. Done :-)

I'm going to check whether we can have this automated in Skinner Desktop.

Daniel or Joebar ... Nice program (Daniel). I just spent the whole day figuring it out and building a USC Trojan skin.

    1) I am missing the little "downward pointing arrow" for the contact. Can you post it or send it to me?

    2) How do you use the "transparent" option?

    3) Do you know the exact color of the "Event Bar" datebook message?

    4) I cannot get my screenshot to my computer. Maybe someone can take a look at it and post the screenshot.

    5) Notice the buttons on the phone pad changes to Tommy T. when you press it.

    Thanks.

You can get the complete set of bitmaps when you select "Export bitmaps" from the menu (scarrow.bmp)

Transparency allows you to define which color is not visible and lets the background shine through. Your button bitmaps may have white as background color, but your Treo may be set to a background color of yellow. If you do not set white as transparent, your screen will look a bit strange.

    The background should be b8d8f8.
