    Great program.

One thing I'd like, as an East Coaster (EST anyways) is that the "last updated" not only show the time in PDT. Sorry if I missed it already...

Edit: yes, I did miss it - thanks for the update!

I've got the alarm set to enable wireless and update the weather...but it doesn't. The alarm goes off, but the weather is never updated. I'm pretty sure this worked 4 or 5 versions ago - but it hasn't in a while. I'm currently using v98c on a Treo 650.

No weather updating via alarm for me on 0.98b or 0.98c. It will update if I do it manually, though.

the dev of treoalarm has posted pricing plan.
Limited time offer for $12.95 (reg $18.50) w/ free update & support for a yr.
my take on this is this app is pricey even @ $12.95... & ill tell u why IMO.
this app is a convience.. not a must have like other apps (schedule care, KB lights, callfilter, treoguard, handzipper, backupbuddy, keycaps, prifiles etc) which many of those are cheaper or free. Plus, if purchased, TA is not a stand alone app... we r at the mercy of the developer to continue to support it & his server that makes the app functional for weather. If this guy dropped off the face of the earth tomorrow.. u'd be left w/ a very expensive alarm only app. Also u only get a yr of updates & support.. so in a yr.. support meaning u have to pay more to cont to get the server support of weather updates?
I really like & use this app once a day strictly for weather... but I really think it is over priced for the limited features & convieniance. IMO this should b a $5 dollar app. I'm having a hard time justify any more than that. even jeff G. new profile care wich took an exhorbinant amount of full time developing & packed w/must have features (than compared to TA) will only cost $16.50. I really think the developers of treoalarm need to rethink what they should be charging for their app.

Are these not all convenience as well?

I was thinking the same thing. What if Jeff Gibson or Shimon decided, enough was enough, or worse literally fell off the face of the Earth as in the unfortunate case of LauncherX's developer?

    Why is TreoAlarm any different?

why u ask? because those apps like schedule care don't require access & connection to the developers server for the apps feature to funtion as does treoalarm. IF jeff disappeared after release of PC/SC- the features of the apps would still function. ASFAIK,treoalarm must connect to the developers server to provide the weather feature (as it ports the weather info into a format useable bt treoalarm)... so in essence.. no treaoalarm server...no weather updates. please correct me if wrong.

Ahhh, okay. I see your point. You did mention that originally, but I read it too quick, and thought you just meant support. Well, that could be a problem indeed, if that's how it handles the info.

The $12.95 is almost worth it for me in order to have the Time Sync option. I like having my clock up-to-date and keeping enable network time on with a Sprint 650 is problematic. Usually I turn off the phone, HotSync, enable network time, turn on the phone, disable network time. Not a big deal until I forget to disable network time and the 650 crashes.

That's an interesting point. I have WorldMate which also syncs time (does weather too) so I can see you liking that feature.

To me the price is not bad. I use it daily for the alarm. I have different schedules during the week and I have the days setup according to which alarm I need. Try to buy an alarm clock at a retail store with that feature for the price. Not to mention the added weather and time sync.

12.95's too much, imo. I think $5 would be good, and would get him lots of sales, because people don't think about five bucks. I guess I'd pay $10, but I wouldn't pay $13.

First step IMO, is for the developer to fix the irritating problems with the app. Don't get me wrong, it works fine, but c'mon, the problem with the 650's centre button is still not totally fixed (dismissing an alarm will generate an extra click behind the alarm popup dialog) and low-res graphics? Man, that's one of the reasons why I upgraded to a 650 in the first place.

    MarkY,

Does it work properly with Daylight Saving Time? I had message from Sprint Treo user -- he couldn't enable DST on his phone.

It appears to be working properly for me - I'm on the East coast. I've updated the time a couple of times with the latest version and everything looks good. I didn't realize the feature was in earlier versions but I think I read there may have been a problem that's since been resolved.

the treo keeps time well enough w/out enable network time. plus if you planning to get profile care.. i thought i read that jeff G was adding feature to fix that... anyway..
i can get the weather from sprints mobile site free.. granted a few more clicks.. but not $13 a yr for it.

    Question:

Are the existing Beta versions that we all have going to keep working or do you think, at some point, a bit of code was inserted to disable the thing after a while?
