Ok, I know this sounds coincidental, but I thought I just ask.
This AM, my work laptop and my home computer both came down with
"Windows cannot start because the following file is missing or corrupt:
    \windows\system32\config\system......"

I've done some research and luckily I'm married to a techy, so I'm hoping he can fix it tonite,but..........

The only thing these two have in common is that I synced my 650 with them after the ROM update.

Any chance this is a possible root cause of the registry error?

Hard to say since you didn't tell us the filename.

    It doesn't tell me either.

I think I was just misleading with my over use of ................ bad habit.

that is where the error ends \system

It just procedes to tell me to try and repair with original disk.
