    The 600k test seems to give the best results if your link is fast enough to complete it in time, I suspect because the payload-to-overhead ratio is so much better.

    Rest of the San Diego are pretty same, speed going in between 75kbps to 125kbps depends where and when.

    You are right, the maximum is 4 bars. I think some of us have been making the mistake of counting the signal indicator icon (the antenna symbol) as a bar too.

    exciter...that is very encouraging that you are getting these speeds. Since I live in OC I hope that means that the Cingular issues have been resolved. Were you having the slow network issues that everyone recently or has your service always been this good?

    Oh no! This time last week was horrendous. Speed wise, the last few days have been fantastic. But I still lose my gprs connection after a few minutes & occasionally I have to power cycle my treo just so that I can establish a connection.

    pardon the n00b question, but is it possible to get a data connection on cingular that isn't Edge enabled? is there a way to tell if you're on Edge, or not? just got my 650. not impressed with the data speed at all. it's actually worse than my 600 on t-mo, side by side.
