I've heard it's different from the older treo's in that it has some memory similar to flash memory. Does that mean when/if I have to reset it or the battery dies or something all my **** will still be there when fixed or reset?

Yes, both the Palm T5 and the Treo 650 use a NVFS (non-volatile file system) memory similar to the Flash cards in the cameras. You can take the battery out or reset without loosing your memory. (There is still a way to erase it with a "hard" reset if you have need). The complaints have been that this ?required a new file system that may cause your applications to take up more space than before.

I think it is still a good idea to back up your data regularly. Check out this link for more information
