    My setup:

    Treo 600 from Verizon
    Take2Phone (Registered) V6.50 Build 034

    Problem:

If I have an addreess book entry in my speed dial list (either manually entered or using the "lookup" button). When a call comes in FROM that number it resets the Treo 600. If I remove the speed dial entry (but leaving the entry in the address book) all is well. This WAS NOT a problem in the previous version I was using (V6.00 build ??).

The program "seems" confused because the entry is in two places . Address Book only entries works fine, but I have not tried "Speed Dial" only entries.

    Please fix this problem ASAP.

One other thing... Why have 3 different support forums? It makes it VERY difficult to determine if a problem has been previously reported. Also, it is unclear which one, or all, a problem / issue should be reported to.

    Thanks.

    Hi,

First - regarding the forums - I was given a section in all those forums, since I have lots of customers using each.
Not all of them use all three forums - some like one, some like the other, so I prefer to support all forums.

From your point of view - does not matter at which forum you post issues - I visit the three several times a day.

Now to your issue - I can not seem to be able to recreate this on my Treo 600. In fact - since TAKEphONE does not handle incoming calls at all, I tend to guess this is not a TAKEphONE issue.

Are you using another application to handle incoming calls/caller-id/ringtones/etc. ?

    Thanks !

not that every situation is the same nor every configuration identical, but based on hpwhite's information, I receive (and dial, of course) many calls from my speed dial favourites and have never had a reset on my 600. I have the latest version of TP and I do not use other call handling apps such as ringo, callfilter, etc.

As for support, you will find very few developers that are as responsive and attentive to their customers as shimon is to his. Whether you use the forums or his direct email - which he posts - you can count on him getting back to you and working thru the issues.

I have the same version of TP as hpwhite and a Treo 600 (but on SprintPCS). I cannot duplicate his error. No problems on my end.

I am having the asme problem with TP 6.50 b034 installed on a Bell Mobility Treo 600.

Phone resets only when the following 2 conditions are met:
1 - Incoming call from someone listed in Favorites
2 - Treo is not in silent mode

    Error Log shows:
A reset was caused on DATE at TIME while running "Phone": Datamgr.c, Line:6341, Invalid uniqueID passed

Has anyone found a solution yet?

    Hi,

So again I have to ask myself - is this TAKEphONE related at all ?

Would you remove TAKEphONE, and see if this still happens ?

    Thanks.

I haven't uninstalled it yet, but did discover one more condition for the error.

If TAKEphONE was last used to edit the Favorite, then the reset will occur on the incoming call.

If the regular Phone app was last used to edit the Favorite, then the reset will not occur.

Ok, I just uninstalled TAKEphONE and that did not fix my problem. HOWEVER, as stated in my previous post once I edit the favorite in the regular Phone app, then everything works OK. So at this point The following conditions must be met to dupliate the soft reset:
    1. Edit a favorite's phone number in TAKEphONE
    2. Ensure the ringer switch is on
    3. Receive a call from the phone number stored in the favorite from step 1

I will try to re-install TAKEphONE tonight to see if I can duplicate it.

I have upgraded to the latest version, and am still having the same problem. I believe I have narrowed down something else that may be causing it.

When TAKEphONE edits a favorite, it seems to also activate the Image checkbox in the "More" settins of the regular Phone app. However, it does not assign an image (nor lets you if you want to), so when you check the setting in the Pone App, the box is checked with no image shown. I'm not sure this is related to the reset issue, but is an observation to help with troubleshooting.

I have however found a new problem which causes a soft reset. I have been able to duplicate this now several times:

    1. Create a new favorite in the Phone App, assigning a Picture in "More" options
    2. Edit the favorite in TAKEphONE (change the phone number or something)
    3. Go back into the Phone App to change the assigned picture and the phone will reset when pressing the "More" button

Again, I am only able to get the reset after TAKEphONE has edited the favorite.

Ahh, maybe this is related to the conflict with CallFilter I sometimes get when those in my favorites call me, CallFilter will indicate an error that there is no image selected for the caller. If TAKEphONE is checking the image box for caller id without an image then perhaps that is the source of the mountain of error messages I've been receiving in CallFilter.

    Hi,

If you have a Windows PC - you should have a directory like
    "program Files\palmone\<your hotsync name>\backup"
    in it find the file:
    PhoneFavorites2DB.PDB
    or
    PhoneFavoritesDB.PDB

    Thanks !

Try changing ringtone associated with the caller.

Distinctive Ringtone Files that are Too Large Can cause Crash of OS.

    Hi,

That would explain the resets on incoming calls hapenning only when ringer is ON...

But it does not explain the resets ande8150 is reporting.

I have emailed the favourites DB.

The resets do only happen when the ringer is ON. However, I am only using the default ring tones.

Thanks to Shimon for great support on a great product. He discovered the error and I have tested it on a future build. It looks like this occurs on newer 600s. If you are experiencing this error, I would reccomend contacting Shimon for the new build.

    Shimon,

Today I upgraded to TAKEphONE 7.00 (Build (056) ) to see if this would help solve the Treo 600 reset problem when I get a call from someone on my "Favorites" list. Unfortunately, this did not solve the problem. Is there a solution or workaround for this. Thanks!
