The GSM users got a limited "voice mail" fix and CDMA users got a real and really cool fix. Any idea when us GSMers will get the "real" fix (free up memory)?

No, all GSM users have NOT gotten anything. Cingular users have gotten a voice mail fix.

I have an unlocked GSM and am waiting patiently.

Remember, the "P" in PDA stands for personal.
If it works for you, it is "P"erfect.

According to the P1 website in the description of the Voicemail update:

Is this the Treo 650 Updater for Cingular Wireless (including former AT&T Wireless accounts)? No. The Treo 650 Voicemail Updater 1.04 software simply addresses the voicemail issue mentioned above. Later this year, palmOne will release the Treo 650 Updater for Cingular Wireless, which includes a wide range of improvements. Please register your Treo 650 smartphone with palmOne to learn about future software upgrades.
