Delving into an area where I have no knowledge whatsoever but one of the ideas I had for my professional society (www.nspe.org) was to "engage" a programmer to develop programs specifically geared to our members. I have no idea of the typical hours or cost involved in such an endeavor so I am looking for an education.

Here's some ideas:

1. Be able to grab snipets of info from national, state and chapter web sites.
2. Stuff like at this site ....http://www.enggtools.com/ In my opinion these were put together by a programmer with a reference book and no ida of what tools belong packaged with each other.
3. Be able to access licensing laws in various states via the web.

I imagine this could either be done as a "pay this much" or "revenue sharing" method....any education which you guys can provide would be greatly appreciated.
