I was looking around for the suggested memory card to buy, and the place to buy it at.. but I couldn't find it trollin' the boards. I'll prolly just end up grabbin it off Ebay, but I figured I'd ask the experts first. Any suggestions? Cheapest? Best quality? Stores?

    Thanks,

ATP & PQI are fine 'off brand's to use. If you go Lexar or SanDisk, get the high speed/Ultra II (or III) lines. Not too sure about Kingston, Viking, and others.

    I use a 1GB PQI card.

newegg.com is a very highly recommended etailer. They're usually within a buck or two of the cheapest prices around and their service is way above average.

P_I is not primarily a flash card manufacturer. They are more of a "buy cheap on the market and relabel" kind of company but then again, that's how most of the market is these days. IMO buying a card from them is like picking out of a lottery.

i got my Sandisk 1gig from best buy for 59$ after rebates and that was over a month ago. Great deal except I had to exchange it cuz it only would save 768megs. but the new one is the bees knees. Every Sunday I see 1gig SD's going for at least 69 bucks in every major store after rebates.

My vote is for the Sandisk Ultra II, good prices these days, reliable, fast.

But isn't the Ultra II IMPOSSIBLE to find anywhere? atleast a few weeks ago when I was shopping around...couldn't find them anywhere online, all backordered. The ATP's seem to be readily available and are just as fast...probably cheaper too.

Tere's been a web site posted these boards which showed that the fastest card in the 650 was the 128 MB freebie that you get from PalmOne. I haven't come close to filling mine up so I ahven't been looking except for curiosity's sake and the 2 Giggers from ATP (subject of an on line review as best performer) seem to be very rare.

How did you get a 128mb freebie?

I'm in Canada, ordered mine a while back from Tiger Direct. They still have them.
