My Webroot software just singled out Win-Hand during a hard drive scan. The log claims this software is recording key strokes for transmission back to another computer.

Too bad, I liked the software, but I guess we all knew there had to be a catch somewhere.

All of your transmissions from your Treo to your PC and back goes through their server, as it serves as the bridge. So I'm not sure if this would be unexpected when you have your Treo connected to the PC their software?
    Palm III > HS Visor > Treo 600 > Treo 650 > Treo 750 > Treo Pro > PrePlus GSM

"95% of all software issues are due to USER ERROR."

Of course it's recording the keystrokes, otherwise how would keystrokes on your Treo get to your PC?

this sounds right. I had the commercial version before it went "free" and it allowed a direct connection from the treo to your pc much like the way palmvnc works. I'm no programmer, but I don't see any other way that software with a "middleman" like the free win-hand would function w/o tracking what you are entering in some way.

thier is no Connection to any server. The connection is between your Treo and you Computer only. NO intermediate server. the keystokes, And desktop screen shots, are being sent to your treo. "how else would you be able to control your computer from you phone Duh."

There is a server. When you turn on Win-hand on the PC it says checking connection to the server. It does not say connecting to your Treo.
