I had Skinner for the Treo 600 (fully registered that is) And I think I will purhcase a license key for Skinner 3.x for the 650. Question, do I get a fee reduction because I already own a license key for Skinner, or is it full price? Either way its all good, but I just want to make sure before I go thru with the transaction

    Thanks Again!

Here is a Treo 650 theme, using Treo 650 logo and orange colors. Very simple.

I definitely found a limitation. It won't run. It demands to be registered, even though I've never, ever, had Skinner on my 650 before today. Weird.

In the 3.2b2 download is a PDF with some instructions. I'm still working on it and will extend it with some GIMP and PhotoShop instructions.

Skinner Desktop itself will never include all the features that you may need to create the most beautiful skins as we think this is best left to the professional image applications like PhotoShop and The Gimp.

What we are currently considering, though, is adding some kind of alpha blending. This shouldn't be too difficult and would seem to be what you are looking for (it allows to make one image "semi-transparent" so another image can be seen through). You should be able to reproduce this in PhotoShop fairly easy, but I don't have PhotoShop so I can't tell you right now ;-)

The Gimp supports this as well, of course, just create two layers, put the background in the top layer and set it to 'Multiply'. Depending on the background you may want to test out other overlay modes in the dropdown list.

I just uploaded Skinner Desktop 3.2 Beta 4 which supports extracting the keypad from a skin as one BMP. This way it should be easy using Photoshop/GIMP to put a background into it (and loading it back). Take care that we changed the names and locations of some menu items between beta 2 and 4.
