    If ya want to track which programs are the most popular for the Palm OS, a trip over to the TrackerDog site will list the Top 100. Each time TD user logs on to get version updates for his software it inventories what appss you have and the DB lists the top 100 as well as what % of TD users are using the app.

    http://trackerdog.a0soft.com/

    If you are not using TD, it's great page to check for the latest version numbers of all your software.

    Great to see so many posting their top six here and again thanks to Sinew for the statistics! Try to keep it to SIX otherwise it will just be another list where people list the 40 applications they kinda like - by limiting it to six you are really forced to just pick the TOP six applications

    I have been posting these in the general software section (Recent Updates / Betas) which doesn't seem to get much traffic. But since many of these are on people's top 6, I figured I'd repeat it here:

    Program Udates / Betas for March

    Agendus -> Version 3.0 as of 03/16
    Directory Asisstant -> 3.10b6 as of 03/14
    TreoAlarm ->0.95d as of 03/08
    Due Yesterday -> 6.0 Beta as of 03/15
    FileZ -> 6.6 as of 03/01
    Due Yesterday ->5.5 as of 03/01
    Metro -> 5.2.9 as of 03-01
    Datebk5 -> 5.4a as of 03-11
    BackupManager -> 1.52 as of 03/11
    AeroPlayer -> 5.2 as of 03/02
    Splash Money -> 4.04 as of 03/14
    Speedy -> 5.0 on 03/14
    PocketTunes -> 3.0.7 as of 03/05

    My top 6:

    1. Butler
    2. VoiceDial
    3. FileZ
    4. VersaMail - It works for me. 2 x POP and 1 x IMAP accounts (But watching the Chatter vs. Snapper mail count)
    5. Verichat
  9. #129
    oops ...

    6. Adobe Reader

    I was bored.

    The Top Six Programs are:

    Pocket Tunes witthere was 23 Votes
    Directory Assitant with 22 votes
    Snapper Mail with 17 votes
    ZLauncher with 16 votes
    Chatter with 14 votes
    and Verichat and Agundus tied with 11 votes

    Per Tiffany's instructions, I only counted the first 6 programs the posted listed. If there was a 7th choice, it was ignored.

    I assumed, when someone mention "chatter", they meant chatter mail and not chatter the I.M. client.

    Just found this thread - hope it's not too late to contribute.

    It's early days yet, so the list might change some when I start seriously playing with the connected side, but my favourites from several years of Palm usage are (in no particular order):

    ZLauncher
    Datebook5
    AvantGo
    Backupman
    Documents to go
    Targetplot (archery app)
    Palm IIIex --> Zire 71 ---> Tungsten E --> Treo 650

    Now if you could make each item a URL so that it was easy to find... (Not knowing anything about DA, I almost bought a product from Australia with the same name and similar purpose.)

    Only 2 votes for LauncherX, but 227 "views" of the patch in the post # 33 of this discussion. Interesting.

    My six are:

    LauncherX
    VoiceDial
    TreoHelper (to have the phone come back on after a soft reset)
    PXA Clocker
    BkGammon (see attachment)
    PCGenView (special purpose for working with PCGen, a d20 games PC generator, has "issues" with the Treo 650, but basically works)

    Plus many others...

    Here...have a ball <grin>

    http://trackerdog.a0soft.com/top100.php

    This list is based upon what people actually have on their PDA's versus what they indicate they "like best".

    Just for comparisiom, here's the ranking of the Top Six from this thread on that site

    Pocket Tunes 23 Votes here, 22nd place with on 36.2% of Handhelds
    Directory Assitant 22 votes here, not in Top 100
    Snapper Mail with 17 votes, 89th place on 11.7 % of handhelds
    ZLauncher with 16 votes here, not in Top 100
    Chatter with 14 votes here, not in Top 100
    Verichat with 11 votes here, not in Top 100
    Agundus with 11 votes here, not in Top 100

    Top 6 per here are (discounting ones that are part of devcie or included in "packages):

    Documents To Go on 74.6 % of handhelds
    FileZ 63.9 %
    eReader 52.1 %
    Brightness 44.4 %
    Acrobat 42.5%
    Color Theme 43.8%

    Here's PalmGear's Top 10 - downloads this month in ( )

    1. ZLauncher 5.11 (25102)
    2. MMPlayer 0.213 (16043)
    3. PowerRUN 1.3 (5478)
    4. Pocket Tunes Deluxe MP3/WMA Player 3.0.7 (14211)
    5. Butler 2.85 (7559)
    6. BackupMan 1.52 (5028)
    7. NeatFreak Pack 2.70 (6597)
    8. Salexo's Texas Hold 'Em Poker 2.0 (3150)
    9. Voice Dialer 1.1.1 (5324)
    10. Bejeweled 2 v1.1 (9070)

    That Voice Dialer number is pretty amazing considering how few units it works on and the fact that most are probably getting in direct from TreoCD / PalmOne site.
