Who might be able to tell me, what that symbol above the clock might be and where it comes from? Thanks a lot!

I believe that is the symbol to indicate that the GPS location is on. I don't have that symbol on my Cingular Treo 650 but I know I've seen it on some others. Check out these threads also:

It's telling you that location services are disabled except for 911.

You ARE reading your manual, right? The answer is right in front.

Oops, I shoulda looked at the photo. Yes, the line through the crosshairs indicates disabled.

    Thanks for the superfast help!

You see - we in Germany are a bit behind... those location services are not familiar to us... and either I overread it in the manual or it's not there (more likely - Cingular man.).

I don't believe it's referenced in my manual either.

Here is where is appears in the Sprint manual (page 54):

Where it describes all of the icons that appear at the top of the screen.

I don't believe that the GSM version has this feature. Did you install one of Shadowmite's patches? If you did, that might explain why the symbol is appearing on your GSM version of the phone.

Thanks - it has been definitely not in the Cingular manual. I checked.

You probably did one of the dialpad patches - that's when it showed up for me.
