What would make Clarence a screwball? Are you that closed minded that you would dismiss someone's posts based on their personal beliefs and a GD picture? ******...

I've tried SHoutcast before to listen to stations, except that the transfer speeds were so slow that most of my time was spent listening to dead buffer time. It was frustrating. I'd rather get a SD card.

But good luck to you that do this! It's your footsteps that will help make this a viable for the rest of us slackers...

I have luck with streams under 64K. Anything higher than that I am buffering more than I am listening..

Well I have. Check it out. http://treo.middleton.no-ip.org:8000/listen.pls

Give it a Try if you Like old and New school Funk.

I currently use 3 Free Program for my Station
    Winamp
    Shoutcast Server /ShoutCast DSP
    WWWwinamp
    “What over programs are Available”

The Program WWWwinamp Allow you to remote control you Playlist through any Web Brower “Cool”.
In the Future I plan to Re-stream NPR’s stream.

Who else has their Own Station? Post a Link, and Share the Music.
Ok. I must be doing something wrong. I use PTunes with Shoutcast and input that link and get nothing coming up.

Even more important, I can't find an answer as to whether I should be able to be hearing stereo in shoutcast streaming over my Treo using PTunes Deluxe. All the stations I have seem to only come through in mono.

Huh? I see for some reason my typing of the "-" kept coming up as "s" and fixed that but I get your station at only mono. How do you "choose" between stereo and mono on a station?

This would probably help the person who wants to stream tv shows.

When i want to play a different song, i just log into my vnc and change the song/playlist/source/whatever in itunes and nicecast.

this is done at the Source. Radio Server Software on the Computer.

You can pick mono stereo, mono, bit rate etc.

Instead of Using Slow VNC, download this Software Call WWWinamp. It allow remote access to the playlist "with seraching"

    Check mine out.

I can use WWWinamp on my Treo? Is this apart from PTunes? I use PTunes Deluxe for streaming my shoutcast to my Treo 650 and all the stations only come in as mono. There is no place for me to choose stereo that I can see.

What last post? I'm not running anything on my home computer. I'm just choosing stations from the list at Shoutcast or wherever. You mean it is up to the one who is broadcasting to choose if they broadcast in stereo and not up to me (on my Treo)? You mean none of these stations choose to broadcast in stereo?

yeah it's up to the broadcast to speify stereo or mono.

most stations use mono "it conserves bandwidth"
