Hmmmm, that's awful presumptious of you. Either a) I don't have high standards("aren't as picky") or b) I'm just not that smart because I can't see the fact that I have problems with my phone.

I'm really sorry that you've had troubles with your phone. I'd be mad too if I spent this much on something that doesn't work properly. But the fact of the matter is that there are good 650's.

I've had lots of those; no 2 years contract committments, either.

IMO, the three fundamental expectations for any product that is an UPGRADE from another is:
    1) don't break what worked
    2) fix/improve what didn't work
    3) add new enhancements.

The T650 (arguably) fails miserably on #1, does ok on #2, and good on #3.

BTW, I have a CDMA 650 on SprintPCS.

Here's my list of opinions/comments on the 650...(based on my 12 months of T600 usage and 2 weeks of T650)

    Likes:
    New Keyboard
    Dedicated phone buttons
    Removable battery
    Bluetooth (although clunky)
    Built-in MP3 playing ability

    Loves:
    Screen
    Screen
    Screen

    Dislikes:
Change to call log access (defaults to "cancel" button)
No single-button access to D-pad favorites

    Hates:
Memory issue (creates a "slower" PDA since many more apps have to be loaded from card)
Software incompatibility (specifically CallFilter & BackupMan)
Sloooooooow "white-screen" reaction time (dialing contacts, power-up, application switching)

In summary, IMO the T650 is a georgous woman with a killer body, who's unable to hold a decent conversation and unreliable...but otherwise great.

Life is all about compromises... I'm still on the fence with this one.

Your list of likes/dislikes/etc., are almost exactly what mine are (except I'd add form factor and keyboard to the Love column)... and if all these things were available, it would be the perfect device (just about - it doesn't quite do what a killer body could).

I just NEED a device to do all of these things NOW, and I have been unable to find anything as good as the T650 (T600 maybe...6600?).

I'm not sure that makes me a zealot, but if the T650 is *junk*...what are all the lesser PDA/Phones on the market?... are they all Beta too?... and just how long are we supposed to wait for this 'perfect' device?... 6 months, 12 months, a couple of years?... I've got business (and entertainment) I'd like to conduct today...

If you think the device is junk return it and buy the device you feel is better (which one is it again?). Or tell your employees, or customers, or coworkers, that they'll just have to wait for perfect... because the best for now won't do... only perfect will.

So I'm not on the fence, I am happy with this device for now (I'm actually getting stuff done on my T650)...until a hotter lookin' wench, (oops) I mean device comes by.

oh, now if you want a reliable phone integration in a reliable PDA you're accused of seeking perfection. The bar seems to have been lowered.

    beta for $199, no problem

beta for $599 or $699, muchp problem.

Most, if not all 650 problems were forseeable:

    - Memory
    - BT crippling and problems
    - Slow performance
    - Sound quality

oh well...10 months until the next one...

One, you said "junk", not me. I said BETA.

Two, my comments are SPECIFIC to someone (me) who's gone from a T600 to a T650. This REDUCES the things to LIKE about the 650, because they are not upgrades.

    Does that make sense?

Your points are valid, but in the context of someone who did NOT own a T600 before buying a T650.

His COMPLETE list, not 'just reliable' would be pretty close to perfection. Just reliable phone integration is already in the marketplace.

No one's saying you have to spend your money on it, but to act as though we must be idiots because we did, and we're satisfied is somewhat insulting to those of us who bought one. BTW I paid $329. I still want to know what unit is out that can offer what the T650 does....at any price? (6600 is the only one close that I can find).... and for ME (and apparently many others)this unit is fine NOW. If it didn't work I'd take it back (like everyone who has one that doesn't work should), and decide whether I wanted to try out another until it did...or simply get a refund and buy something else...

Returns do make a manufacturer think about their own quality/design issues. If they don't improve...they usually die.

maybe I could buy a phone/PDA, with another phone to do the real job?...right Tony H... that's simplifying.... I'll take my compromise... for now... and if it takes ten months, at least I have something that works pretty well until then.

#1. The first post in this thread refers to the T650 as *junk* it's not your statement, but it is the reason we're still going on about this.

#2. If you only view upgrades as those that are NEW to the device, then I guess that makes sense...but wait...the T600 had a color screen (you do love the new one right?) I did own a T600 and upgraded to a 650... IMO (opinion!) the keyboard is definitely an upgrade. The Form Factor, is still something to love for me, because I'm surprised they gave more features and didn't screw up the form factor.... you have your opinion I have mine. No problem there.

    Bull's Eye......

Come back and write a review after you get an unlocked GSM version. If you still hate it then I will concede that the T650 is not for you. I can't imagine you would dislike the Unlocked GSM 650.

When you get it, use it a week before you start loading and transferring applications over from other devices. Let the PalmOS prove itself.

I still stand by my orginal statement though, The T650 (CDMA) in it's *CURRENT STATE* (<--People love to ommit in this thread) is junk...

Yes some work, and Yes it appears they addressed alot of the issues we've ran into on the CDMA version in the unlocked GSM version.

"No, it's not! It's great! Mine works perfectly! Woohoo!"

"You obviously don't use it enough, or you're too stupid!"

"I am not, you arrogant jerk!"

    Repeat 14 thousand times.

Pretty much right? Can we talk about something useful now?

Itís not possible to have un bias discussions about a "TREO" on a TREO web site. Some people here, fell in love with the treo 650 "and 600", before they even touched it. Post about how great the device was started around 4 months before the device was even released. The Fan users of this board will love and defend all new TREOs "any future treo that happens to come out". This is "TREO "Central.

Any attempt to destroy the unity and safety of TREO cheerleading, will be met be great with force. This is a free board, but we will not Tolerate UN TREO patriotic comments. You either love the Treo or you moved the H*ll on.

Considering the number of anti treo threads that exist on this board and all the complaints therein, that is just a ridiculous comment.

Treo Central users canít take a joke "unless it supports the Treo". Treo Central users donít want to here your Comments "unless it supports the Treo".

Not all Treo Central users, but the majority.

This board is not what it used be. Something about the type of people on here seems different "from the Treo 90, 180, 270, 300 DAYS".

When I first came to this board ideas, and opinions where shared freely. Since the introduction of the Treo 600, the attitude of the board has changed. Has anyone else noticed this "or is it just me"
