don't wait for a hack for th 9000 - the Treo 10G will be released next week. I think it's coming out the same time as the 650 on Verzion.

I really hate to say this, Tundy, but I think the site has lost its usefulness. You only have 88 signatures. This represents only a fraction of a fraction of a percent of the Treos sold. It is not even a drop in a bucket let alone a snowflake.

With P1 starting to distribute ROM updates you will get even fewer people signing.

The effort isn't worth it. There will be no bang for the buck here. Send what you have to P1 and move on.

While dissatisfaction exists with this product, and it certainly is far from perfect, all you have done is prove that there are MANY MORE people who are satisfied with their Treos than not. From P1's point of view that, along with the money spent by consumers translates to success. I am sure they wish they could do better, but this is far from an unmitigated disaster.

    Just my 2 cents.

    Take Care.

    Thanks for the input O.E...

I have to respectfully disagree though... on a couple of different points.

    1. The site is just under a month old and is just now picking up steam with the search engines, so I really believe it's an issue of the broad T650 populace not being even aware of it... remember only a tiny fraction of Treo 650 owners have even heard of TreoCentral and I think it's fair to say that TreoCentral is where the bulk of signers have heard about www.treo650update.com... not via search engine searches.

    2. I don't see the updates (so far) as having long term helpfulness. There were a lot of excited people out there talking in the forums about the Sprint 1.08 updater, but look at all of the new problems that updater is creating.

2.a. Until P1 goes back to the drawing board and dumps this new memory system... I just don't see these random issues going away... they need to up the memory to at least 128k preferrably 256k as well.

2.b. Add to that the backward menu fixes (ie: 5 way nav, 'cancel' in call log)

..soooo I guess I'll see your 2 cents and raise you a penny

PS: since spring is here, I may just have to change the flakes to raindrops anyway.

    Cheers,
    Tundy

The bottom line is that there just aren't enough people who own a treo who agree with you to make an impact. That is all I am saying.

I hear ya... I just want to leave it out there so they get a chance to stumble across it one way or the other.

Oh yeah, and even at this pathetic "early on" rate of 8-10 signers a day, even if that didn't improve, which it may... that would still be around 3,000 signers representing $2 million dollars of product, by the time the next Treo came out.

P1 has to at least take a glance at numbers like that, if for no other reason than to acknowledge that these were unhappy or lost customers... and if they don't, well, that's bad news for all of us, P1 included.

Guys, I'm going to start a paypal donation account. It's going to be called "Buy Tundy's Treo 650 back". If we can raise $600 we can buy his Treo 650 back and perhaps he can move on and STFU.

I think PalmOne most likely sells 88 Treo 650's a week, if not more.

You have 8-10 signers a day? no you don't. You said its been up "just under a month".... that would be between 200 - 310 signers in total. You only have 88. Assuming "just under a month" is about 25 that would be about 3.5 per day.

You took new math in school, didn't you????

Keep in mind too how he's calculating the monetary impact on PalmOne. Number of Signers * $725 = ROI impact.

I'm pretty sure ROI isn't a full $725, and PalmOne probably sees a percentage of that MSRP, which is overly-inflated to begin with.

88 per week?... are you serious? casper, they're selling thousands per week... at this point there are probably a couple of hundred thousand out there already.

It has been accelerating over the past 5-6 days, and yes it is at that level now.... keep a running tally if you don't believe me.

Wrong again buckwheat... I'm including organizations... the CEO of Oneal Associates (see the petition) told me he has postponed his purchase of 21 units as a result of the outstanding issues... specifically those pointed out by my site.

Don't you have something better to do Casper?

Once again, the petition is at www.treo650update.com

    Thank you everyone.
