Apparently there is a maximum of 16 categories as the default for the Address book. Is there a hack or anything that would allow additional categories?

    Thanks in advance...

The categories used in the Palm apps are built on top of a set of category APIs built in to the PalmOS. Basically every record in a PalmOS database has a one byte (8 bit) attribute associated with it. The First four bits are use for Delete, Dirty, Busy, and Secret. The last four are used to store the category. Thus, it would be a major task to try to write a hack to give any of the apps more that 16 categories. It should be possible for a replacement Address book application to have more that 16 categories. It could do this by not using the category API and instead store the category information in some other manner. But I do not know of any such application.
