That's disappointing because othewise the GN Netcom 6210 would be a "dream candidate" for me. GN Netcom is Jabra's parent company and the 6210 makes your BT250 work on your desktop phone as well as your computer.

The 650 seems to have issues with a lot of headsets....

"The worst range we experienced was when using the HS820 with the Treo 650. It starts to have cracking noise and ugly interference at about 7 feet.

"The sound hand-off between the phone and the headset is quite fast and smooth, even with the Treo 650 which is generally slow to hand off calls to a Bluetooth headset."

"It’s a good choice for the office but not for noisy cars or loud outdoor public places.""

Now this should have a Treo sitting there:

How do you see the caller id without taking the headset off of your ear. Is there something that I am missing?

Well, you could walk around all day with the headset on your ear, at which point there is no benefit. Or, you can have the headset in your pocket or around your neck (like I do with the HBH-660), and when the phone rings you grab the headset, look at the screen, and press the button to answer or press and hold to ignore.

Quite frankly the screen is so small I sometimes wonder. But then a call comes, I look at the screen, decide I dont want to take the call, and then I'm thankful the Treo 650 stayed in its pouch and that I have a screen on my headset. I just wish it was bigger and that it used your AddressBook info to display a name rather than just a number.

I hate that, too. I mean a medium size *****, or a small one is no big deal. But a big ***** strapped to the side of my face is just UNCOMFORTABLE.

Just an update for my ***** loathing friends here on the board. Without a doubt, the HBH660 with SlicSound gels is the way to go! Great volume & voice clarity, EASY to insert with one hand, and a relatively discreet profile. Many have questioned the need for a caller ID display on the unit, which I second, but it does come in handy for battery level and ringer volume. Hail to the all powerful Sony!

try a jabra ear gel with the HBH-300... it fits beautifully... unfortunately the HBH-300 is unsupported with the 650... c'mon palmone!

How does the HBH-660 sound compared to the Scala 500?

    is the hbh660 bt 1.2?

just in case p1 releases a bt 1.2 fix.

I've only tried the Jabra-250. It isn't too big, light on the ear and the sound quality is okay when the Treo was close to the headset. Sometimes, I have people complain about the sound quality, while other times they can't tell I'm on a headset. I too am tempted by the HBH-660. It's not much more if you get it on Ebay

I'll let you know as soon as I get the SlicSounds. Make sure you get the (fugly, IMO) colored Jabra eargels, as the clear ones don't fit as snugly as the colored versions.

I bought the clear Jabras at Radio Shack while I was waiting for the SlicSounds to arrive and they did not fit over the earpiece on the Sony 660. I have not been able to find the colored ones anywhere local, but then again I live in podunk Palm Springs ( I mean, the closest Fry's is like 100 miles away..).

The Slics really do fit like they were made for the HBH660. They are perfect.

Just thought i'd let everyone know who was interested in the BT800 that it IS NOT COMPATABLE with the Treo 650. I don't know if it had been mentioned or not yet, but just incase just thought i'd let everyone know.

Also someone in this thread mentioned something about a "slick sound gel" Basically what is it for and where can you get them. Also i'm looking for a good place to purchase the Sony 660 BT earpeice that everyone is raving about on here. Let me know. I'd appreciate it.

    Thanks.
