You need IT intervention as the GoodLink server must be set up to access the Exchange server.

Anybody know what the implications of Resco Locker may have on memory utilization with Goodlink?

Now with Goodlink, I have 2 calendars....the original Palm Calendar and now the Goodlink Calendar. I would like to keep the Palm Calendar synchronized with Outlook since I like the "Show Calendar Event" option. However, having both calendars active and syncronized now give me TWO Reminder/alerts for for each Calender Event.

Is there a way of turning off only one of the reminders?

    Thanks

Goodlink seems inconsistent with regard to the ability to handle attachments if the supporting applications reside on an SD card, and given the very limited amount of memory available on a Good-enabled Treo 650, this is a real problem.

I have Documents to Go Pro and Acid Image Pro installed on my SD card.

If I am in the Good Email app and select a Word or Excel attachment and choose View High Quality, it works perfectly.

However, when I try to do the same with a Powerpoint file, it downloads, but then a message pops up that says: "The application to open this type of document could not be found!". Similar behavior occurs with Acid Image Pro.

If I relocate the apps to main memory, they function correctly.

(FYI, the DTG apps were installed properly and then relocated to an SD card using the Dataviz Tech Tool downloaded from their web site.)

Do you have any suggestions on how I can get Goodlink to recognize that Powerpoint and Acid Image Pro ARE installed on my SD card?

BTW, I am using Goodlink v.4.0.3.6.

    Thanks.

Let try it out on mine. I am running D2G on my card, but don't open PPT presentations often on my 600. I will also move AIP to my card and see if I get the same thing. I am, however, running 4.5.

My VAR (The one I originally purchased the licenses from) was told by your sales department that it is the exact same server software for SBS as it is for the standalone product. The only difference is that SBS is not supported by Goodlink because the average customer resolution time on the phone is 3 hours with them. Can you confirm this? This is very troubling that you would offer a product and only the VARs would be able to support it, considering that there is absolutely no difference in the software itself.
  12.    #832
Actually, there is a difference. SBS runs on and is installed on SBS while the standalone version of GoodLink requires a separate box. SBS was designed as a VAR product with them supporting it.

I've just got to say that this "rocks"! We've just subscribed to a 30 day trial through our work and it is very, very nice!

I love the backup feature and how it worked very well during an upgrade from my Cingular 1.04CNB to 1.15CNB. The product is actually receiving email messages before my "Exchange Cached Mode" Outlook 2003 is on my desktop.

Count me impressed and likely to continue the service for all my 600 and 650 users.

    Electro..

That is great to hear! Thanks for the feedback and welcome to the GoodLink family!

I get the exact same behavior. Using GoodLink 4.0.0.59.

But.... Despite some peculiarities, I love GL. It keeps me from being on a leash. I know when I sit back down at my laptop that no major issues have happened and nothing is going to surprise me.

Quick question. Do people out there without GL, running D2G and AIP on the card, have the same issue? Also, those of you with GL with this issue, if you have the image or the PPT to the card, does it open?
  17. #837
I would actually like to know what I need to do to reinstall the D2G apps if anyone can help me. They used to work until I moved to the card with the Dataviz tool, and now I get that "application could not be found" error.

Do I go back to my Treo CD or is there a "segment" of Good files that I need to reinstall to get it working again?

    Thanks

I have a question that I could not find the answer to in this mega thread. I recently installed GoodLink 4.0.x.x and as a result I believe I now have duplicate contacts, tasks, and notes since I use to hotsync with Outlook and now GoodLink does this for me. Is there a way to quickly delete all the duplicate info from the built in PIM. It looks as if I may have to do this individually but I have a lot of info and it would take forever.

    TIA

    GoodGuy,

I get the same PowerPoint error on my Unlocked GSM 650 running GL 4.0.3.6 when DTG is moved to my SD card via DataViz Tech Tool. No problems with Word or Excel, only PowerPoint. If I move DTG back to ROM, the file opens without issue. It also works if you download to the SD card & open the file in DTG.

tcatnat, I can't find a way to delete multiple internal contacts on the Treo, but you can do it from the Palm desktop. Go to Contacts, then File/Select All and then delete them. HotSync your Treo and then all the Palm internal contacts are gone leaving the GoodLink contacts that sync with Outlook. If the duplicates are in Outlook, highlight the first contact, press and hold the Ctrl key and highlight your other duplicates and then delete them all at once.
