What I do (also with my Satellite Radio which has an RF transmitter) is to unscrew my external antenna. The RF transmitters then work without a problem. Since I've got satellite that has traffic, news, and weather, there is really nothing that I use my FM radio for anyway.

I've tried FM transmitters but keep coming back to my reliable old cassette adapter - it just plain works.

One annoyance though: GSM phones produce obnoxious RF interference that gets picked up in speakers, etc... I find that the cheap wiring in my cassette adapter is also *very* susceptible to this interference.
