    Hi folks,

    today I discover that my order of February 2nd of the (famous) 599$ Unlocked Treo 650 from Palmone is now Cancelled without ANY reason

    I don't received any mail or notice from Palmone until now.
    I'm really disapponted!

    Any of you have similar situation?

    okay how do you know it has been cancelled...call the 1-800 number...you're gonna have to further explain

    so let me just get something straight...from the time you ordered your unlocked unit...you never recieved an email saying your purchase, or an email saying what you ordered, how much it will cost, and the type of shipping?

    I think as long as you have your order number, they should have history on their system....just the status field may set to cancelled...and they should be able to give you back the $599 price.

    The problem it is not to give back the $599 (I'm expect they don't charged on my credit card). The problem is WHY cancel the order that until yesterdy has in "Order Received" status

    The problem for me is that I want the deliver to my office in San Francisco where I stay only for a few day and then return in Europe.

    I had my first 2 orders cancelled. I'm on order number 3. Both of my cancelled orders (first one in feb 2 at 6:30am) they said it was cancelled because of an invalid credit card number. I was using AMEX and I know I entered the number right, especially the second order because I was so concerned and upset after the first cancellation. My 3rd order as also almost cancelled. I think they have a problem with the automated system they processes with AMEX. (I don't know if this is AMEX's problem or P1's.) Anyway after all my hassels luckily last night I got an order processing guy on the phone who manually validated my card number by phoning AMEX. I was using a different shipping address but AMEX also had alternate shipping on file.

    If you phone them and give them your order history they should honour the $599 price, but based on what I was told several times by serveral people at P1 once an order is cancelled there's no way to uncancel so you'll likely have to place a new order which sucks because it bumps you to the end of the line in terms of when your phone ships. Maybe if you compain enough they'll be able to expediate your order.

    Backordered is the status after it's cleared credit card processing. It's when it sits in order received for days that you know you have a problem. That's when it's with the order review people or waiting for processing. Based on my recent experience, backordered is good.

    i just noticed the other day (ie yesterday) that my status got changed to backordered...so thats a good thing...yay!

    So what does it mean when it goies from Order Received to Back Ordered and then back to Order Received?? Guess I'm calling Palm tonight...

    yup. Once they get the unlocked 650's in the warehouse (or release the ones they have in the warehouse for shipping) one should get picked, packed, and shipped to you.

    Now I'm just guessing/speculating (guesspeculating) but I bet phones are shipped in the order they were processed not neccessarily the order people placed their orders. Some people who placed early orders had their orders temporarily in limbo while they were reviewed by the order processing department and I think there's a chance these people are shipped after orders placed later but processed immediately. Of course depending on how many units they can pick, pack and ship in a day it probably won't make much difference if you're 1000 units ahead or behind in processing.

    My rational is this: They take orders and they put in an order processing queue. Most orders are processed automatically and immediately, but one P1 CSR said a percentage of orders are automatically pulled aside for a manual review, plus any hitches or things they want to confirm, like alternate shipping addresses may cause an order to processed out of turn. Then they have a shipping queue. Once an order is processed it is sent to shipping where the item is picked, packed, and shipped or in the case of our backorders queued for shipping and I think this queue based strictly on the order things came in from processing. It would add complexity to keep track of who ordered and re-order the shipping queue. A simple system is better.

    Okay I have too much time on my hands and I've obsessed about this phone way too much.

    Only here, with all of us fiending for this product, is ever a GOOD thing to have your order status say "Backordered". This really cracks me up.

    i'm tired enough as it is, and after reading that im almost in a coma Naw man it makes sense eh...but im still playing with them on the phone...and well in 40 mins it would have been 24hrs since they promised me an explanation of the "Shipping" charge...me so tired...mofo sleepy

    Where is P1 located? Do you think that I can get my phone faster if I offer to go to the warehouse and pick it up?

    That's a new one. Calling them often and babysitting your order seems like a good idea.

    I also had my order cancelled the other day using a valid credit card that I use to make 50 or more online purchases every month with no problems ever.

    **I called the 1-800 and the phone monkey said the credit department said there was a problem with the shipping address and the info on the card and too call VISA to confirm, I asked to speak to a manager over and over and he wouldnt do this and said they were too busy..I asked to speak to sales or whoever cancelled the order and this also was not possible...though he was able to put me on hold and talk to them and returning each time with the same answer.

    In the end he told me a Manager would reply in 24 hours which they havent yet, I went and ordered a second time using a totally different card that I also know works 100% for online buy and so far I only get the message "Order Received"

    **I called VISA to ask why the card would have been denied and verified all info on my account and they confirmed it was 100% correct and told me Palm had not even attempted to charge the card, below is the email I received

    Something is very fishy here...the same thing happened to me...I ordered by phone...using a card I have used online MANY times...showed up as "order received" for a day, then I got an e-mail saying my order was "suspended" because of an address anomoly...called in right away to confirm the details..they said "Oh, okay, everything seems fine with your order"..then, right away, I got another acknowledgment e-mail and now my order is "backordered".

    I have just confirmed with VISA, postal code was wrong on shipping address..I called and got it corrected to the one I used to order with...Spoke to Richard minutes after getting that fixed and he has confirmed my order has gone through and said it will ship this week or early next week to Canada via Purolator Air
