    so...quick sync is a background operation as well?....right?...

    that is to say that if your network arrows are up quick sync happens and doesn't throw up in messages or windows saying that it's "quick syncing"...

    I'm not sure what you mean by "arrows on". QSync with any interval 10 minutes or longer will use less battery than online.

    "arrows on" meaning data connection...

    i guess i'm asking...if the data connection is on...gray arrows...then i have quick sync set at 10min or more intervals will it drain less battery than "online"...

    or is the battery drain just by virtue of having the data connection on...

    No, the battery is mainly used when transmitting and receiving data; the data connection remaining open shouldn't be more than a very small drain.
