That was strictly a personal an subjective decision he made. While it might be true, it's no worse then people asking the same question over and over and over (and over). If it is a personal attack go for it, but just because it was getting tiring, obnoxious & irritating, IMHO, it shouldn't have been changed.

Disclaimer: This is just one old man's opinion.

The mods are asked to make thos decisions if needed, whatever it takes to keep this board running smoothly.

The over and over asking of the same questions is being adressed too (for example by many of the sticky's and by (repeatitly pointing people out to the search function..

Maybe so, but if we didn't do these things when warranted (IMHO, in this case it was), we'd be accused of never doing anything.

    For us mods, it's a no-win situation.

Very true. I did it as well for almost 2 years on a large Fusetalk board.

This incident aside thank you for your work and efforts keeping this board running as smoothly as it is.

I think if the mods are going to make decisions like this and set a standard so to speak, then they should be fair and consistent with all TC members and change everyone else's "who's with me" threads.
  8.    #48
Do you think we can get this thread back on track to see who has a fully functional non-resetting 650? Who's with me???

    Chatter
    Converter
    dbScan
    DocstoGo 7.01
    eReader 2.5.3
    eWallet 4.01
    Fileman 3.0
Graffity Anywhere 1.5.7 (although its off most of the time)
    KB Lights
    LEDOff
    Loan Pro 3.0
    MobileDB 4.0
    RealPlayer
    Versamail 3.0
    Blazer
    Tide Tool
    PocketChess Deluxe 2.5
Frobnitz (to play the orginal Zork series on my Palm)
    Zap!2016
    BackupBuddy VFS Pro 3.07

Typical use is very heavy email (50-100 day), light web (news, weather, mostly PDA friendly sites), and 2000 minutes of talk a month.
    I just added:

BatteryDr (gets rid of the green data lines (connection) on PDA poweroff)
TreoGuard (prevents accidental answering of phone while taking out of holster)
dBScan (checks for corruption in the calendar database)
    DocsToGo 7.003 (upgraded)

And it keeps on ticking. I got 8.7MB left. Although a lot of these could go on the card, I wont get worried until I get to 5MB. Low memory is another reason for lockups/reboots.

Who's with me? [See, it's stupid].
So you think its ok for a moderator to arbitrarily change the title of a thread, even changing its meaning because.... they "feel" like it?

I have never complained about the work that the moderators do here. I am hoping it was just mark having a bad day. Like the rest of us do..

I copied the main DocsToGo apps to the SD card and it works fine. I copied WordToGo, SheetToGo, PicsToGo and SlidesToGo. I tried copying other files (like the dGraphconverter) and DocsToGo failed. However, with just those four main apps runnning off the SD card I'm up to 11.1MB free. I tested DocsToGo by opening a doc, sheet and a powerpoint and a jpg, and it all works fine.

I used the built in Copy command off the main screen to copy those four files to the card, and then used the standard Delete function to delete them from main memory. No resets yet!!! (wood knocking)

As for the moderation of this website, I believe we all agreed to a TOS when we registered.

    This isn't our house.

The mods are the volunteer bouncers.

3 pages of this silly discussion!

Everything in the universe is contractual in nature and through your consent when registering you were bound to the terms and conditions. That being said I am happy that Zbo hasn't had any resets on his 650. Those are a decent amount of apps on there and I think we need to log the compatibility. I wonder if you add pocket tunes deluxe on there if it would reset? (not that you need it as you are running Realplayer. Shouts out to Realplayer!)

I'm dethman's roommate. I'm not a Treo user yet, but an avid user of Palm OS devices, and have been considering switching to a Treo, especially seeing the improvements of 650 over the 600.

This looks like a generally informative forum, but heavy-handed moderation like this -- making changes to people's posts (IMO, posts should be either deleted or be left intact. Moderators should NEVER feel free to modify an existing post willy-nilly) and banning a user for a single arguably offensive post -- reflects poorly on the forum as a whole, and on the moderator in particular. To as yet an outsider, it appears as though the moderator is extremely thin-skinned or is burdened with an extra chromosome.

If you 2 are room mates I'll assume you are in college, which means you should be smart enough to not use namecalling. And especiallialy not to the ones in command, or do you call the police officer that pulls you over a pig too?

If you have a problem with the moderating, feel free to make a complaint in this (sub)forum: http://discuss.treocentral.com/forumdisplay.php?f=47
Calling moderators (or any other user for that matter) names will not be tolerated here. simple...
