The only reboots I have experience on my sprint treo 650 has been after installing a few new programs, my treo would reboot when I tried to hotsync. I go back and see what programs I recently installed and remove them, this has fixed this problem a few times for me. These programs have cause this on my treo 650:
    minutes plus

Mine reboots all the time. Sometimes when I click on a hyper-link in a website it will just reset. It seems very random and ##377# just tells me the reset occcured when running "WEB". But I have used a Treo300, 600, and now 650, and have unfortunately come to expect it from these devices.

So I cuss at it for a second then appologize to it because I know its doing the best that it can.

I would say that criticism of the "moderation" is valid. I would say that calling the moderator a nazi is worthy of banishment.

I'm curious ZBoater, what apps do you have installed. It might help some people to know what you do and don't have installed. And what your typical usuage patterns are for your treo. Obviously you've found the right combination of apps and usuage to have a stable device.

I have never criticized a moderator here but I am curious as to why you would change a thread title because you just didn't like it. It is not an abusive title its just not original.

I think you overstepped your "purpose".

And guess what? Your "change" has resulted in all these offtopic posts making the thread even more useless than what you were complaining about.

Agreed. I just looked at the sticky for the forum rules, and it says nothing about arbitrary changes because cranky mods were tired of a few useful words. I'm still on the fence, and was hoping to see a positive show of 650 owners who are problem free.

Based on the information I've found on TC since buying my 650, I'm willing to give the moderators the benefit of the doubt. It's obvious they're doing something right, so rather than griping at the people who make this possible, let's try to be a little more direct when picking thread titles.

Who's with me? [See, it's stupid].

No re-boots or problems of any kind with my Cingular 650.

Not a single reboot, and I do have about 6-7 third party apps and use versamail with 3 email accounts that autosync every hour.

Seems we just need to be careful with which apps to install. Some just can't handle the 650's memory scheme, which I love because I don't have to worry about running the battery down.

wow. I guess it sticks that all you hear about r the bad experiences and nothing good. I am happy that this thread is here.

By Treocentral standards I am a "light" user. I have no need or use for DUN, I dont go to Europe every month, and if its larger that 200K I aint downloading it in Blazer. I have the following besides the standard apps:

    Chatter
    Converter
    dbScan
    DocstoGo 7.01
    eReader 2.5.3
    eWallet 4.01
    Fileman 3.0
Graffity Anywhere 1.5.7 (although its off most of the time)
    KB Lights
    LEDOff
    Loan Pro 3.0
    MobileDB 4.0
    RealPlayer
    Versamail 3.0
    Blazer
    Tide Tool
    PocketChess Deluxe 2.5
Frobnitz (to play the orginal Zork series on my Palm)
    Zap!2016
    BackupBuddy VFS Pro 3.07

Typical use is very heavy email (50-100 day), light web (news, weather, mostly PDA friendly sites), and 2000 minutes of talk a month.

It is the kind of board where people are not allowed to make personal attacks, neither to other users or to moderators.

I suggest you appologise to Mark for calling him a nazi.

    That goes for you too.
If you have a problem with one of the mods, feel free to log a complaint.
However calling them fascists or nazi's will not be tolerated.

If that ever happens I'm sure you do, but in this case Mark made the right call, the 'who's with me' is getting out of hand.

Ok, I understand. How about "Haven't had a single reboot on my Treo 650, anyone else?"
  20. #40
All you folks with reboot problems ..... have you UPGRADED (resynced) from a previous Palm device to the 650? This is no different then upgrading from Win98 to WinXP. The upgrade route works but it's best to start clean and reinstall all your apps.
