Ok so ive been creeping around here for about 2 weeks now and am seriously considering getting the 650, probally from Cingular, Media Works unlimited is still availiable in my area. My questions are kinda simple because I have never had a Treo before, so here goes...

    1. what is a soft and hard reset? from reading on here, I beleive a soft reset is just a standard reset kinda like rebooting a computer, however a hard reset is like formatting a computer and reinstalling the OS, am I correct?

    2. How does Versamail work? Can I make it pull email from my hotmail account?

    3. What programs come with the 650? (a breif description would be helpful)

    4. Is the Bluetooth really crippled and what are its limitations? I currently have a Nokia 3650 and I can transfer pretty much anything I want. Will i have a problem transferring stuff I downloaded from say Kazzaa?

    5. Anything else anyone would like to add is very much appreciated.

On a side note, I kinda need this info ASAP i kinda wanna order from TreoCentral this weekend

    Thanks

Yes, and yes. BTW, Welcome. Enjoy your visit, and hopefully your stay as well.

It's an email client for POP3 and IMAP email servers. Of which, Hotmail is NOT one, so no, you won't be getting your mail.

    Beyond what's built into ROM:
    (From PalmOne's site)
Software Included on Device or CD-ROM
    • DataViz® Documents To Go® 7 (allows you to view and edit MS Office docs)
    • AudiblePlayer (for audible eBooks)
    • Palm™ eReader (for, uh, non-audible eBooks)
    • Handmark PocketExpress (trial version)
    • Zap! 2016 (COOL game)
    • Handmark Solitaire

Search elsewhere on this forum; this may be as yet undecided.

Last I knew the pay for edition of hotmail ($20/yr or so) included access to pop/smtp severs making pulling from versamail doable.

They could have done away with it though for all I know. it is available with sprint, yahoo premium, gmail etc.
