did you mean someone send you the Korean SMS and all you can see is garbled string?
  3.    #3
    yes.

In Korea, We did test SMS.

English was normal words. But Korean was mysterious words.

    What's the problem?

As I know , Korean telephoen provider send 8-bit, and Korean is 2-byte character. Maybe this is problem.

    Most North America send 7-bit.

    Can I use Treo650 SMS ?

does your treo650 have korean fonts?

i use CKJOS and t can display chinese / japanese / korean on the SMS. So, I can read the chinese SMS if someone sends me sms in Chinese characters.

Otherwise, i will see some ??? or weird characters.

i think your OS just can't display korean fonts

    Thanks for your reply.

Can I ask something? Are you Chinese?

Do chinese provider send 8-bit ?

In Korea, We use Korean font. (usually Diopen, sometimes CJKOS)

We did test with Diopen. (Diopen is most famous Korean font in this country)

    But We did see ???.

    We didn't even try yet.

Maybe we should test SMS with CJKOS too.

From what i know, regardless which provider you have, if you send double-byte characters, the SMS protocol will send as double-byte characters. I can send and read Chinese characters on SMS from my cell phone in US, which provides it has the chinese language pack (fonts) installed.

CJKOS is a program; it is not a font thou.

first question, is your Treo OS a Korean version (meaning, with Korean fonts and programs installed) or it is a US (english) version?

If it is a US version of Treo 600, you have to install CJKOS program in order to display korean characters correctly.

    Thanks.

We are trying to be the first to use Treo 650 in Korea.
But provider do not permission if we can't read correct SMS.

So importer is testing SMS in Korea and US.
    That Treo650 is US version.
Test was done with Diopen(Korean font program, maybe is similar to CJKOS)
We demand importer to test with CJKOS program.

    Thanks.

But He can't read Korean SMS.
Can I ask question? Is your Treo 600 is GSM ?
Programmer in US says GSM Treo can express chinese word. Do you believe that?
