Brayder Technologies has developed a new virtual memory utility for most
    PalmOS 5 devices.

We really need a couple more Treo 600 beta testers!

Currently the software is working with:

    Tungsten T, T2, T3, C, E
    Zire 31, 71, 72
    Treo 600
    Clie NX 60, 70, 73, 80
    Clie NZ 90 (untested)
    Clie TG 50 (untested)
    Clie UX 40, 50
    Clie TH 55
    Clie TJ 25, 27 (untested), 35 (untested), 37 (untested)

We need beta testers to help us track down any compatibility issues with third party software.

We are looking for beta testers with the following qualifications:
    1. Time to test the product and give us feedback
    2. A broadband connection
    3. A configuration that can be restored fairly easily after a Hard reset.

If you are interested, please send me a private message with your email address.

    Thanks!

Virtual Memory? Can you give a little more information? I know on a computer that means it uses the hard drive as memory. How does that translate to a Palm?

The SD card becomes your RAM. You can make your RAM any size up to 256M (if you have the space on your SD card). If you go to Info... dialog, your Treo will display that as RAM.

Since your data is really on the SD card, a hard reset or battery failure will not destroy it. You can quickly recover to where you left off.

As one Treo 600 beta tester said:

"Wow, on my GSM Treo 600, I went from 33 % percent free space to 95 %. i am going to have to sit down with the .pdf and find out if this is truly the greatest thing to come to the Treo in a lonnnngggg time. WOW"

There are still conflicts with other enhancements, but that is what the beta is for--to track those down.

anything in the works for the 650? I would eagerly test a beta for the 650.

Sign me up. I would be quite interested. I have been beta testing a number of products since the Visor days and have no problem with resets ;-)

(Also have broadband, am willing to fiddle with the Treo, and several decades of computer knowledge to back it all up...)

Do I count as a Palm addict if I still have my original Palm IIIC?

Does it function during a hot sync? At lot of apps update databases (large databases) during the hot sync. I'd like to beta test if it does (I meet all the requirements - Treo 600, broadband, technically educated).

    Also, what's the speed loss?

Guess we should have caught on when the title said "Treo 600" not 650.

    I've got a T600 and a T650. I also have broadband and a technical background.

If you're still looking for testers for the T600, let me know.

I have signed up people who PM'ed for the beta.

Unfortunately, we cannot support the 650 as NVFS and MemoryJack (our product) are trying to do similar things and conflict with each other.

    Brad.

That sucks. I guess an alternative for the 650 would be something like MSmount5 beta which does seem to work with NVFS...
