Well not really. I have been slowly adjusting it to my liking over the last month. The main problem I've been having is that my treo doesn't like to sms people. It wont reconize my friends cell #s as valid for text, and on top of that it validates some home numbers as being compatible for sms which is clearly not possible. I am also unable to receive picture mail! What is wrong!!?? Its really frustrating me to the point of electronic homicide. Please help! I am on the Sprint network and am operating a Treo 600! Any tips or friendly advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

    Sincerely,

    Ian

Funny, I never even tried to receive picture mail. If you want to PM me with your contact info (and your friends SMS#), we can see if I have the same issues as you. Then at least you'll have another data point. -- Bob

are you making sure that the contact info is entered correctly? by default when you add a number, it puts it under "Work" i believe, you have to change the type to mobile if its a mobile number, esp for the SMS to work right. you might also have the house numbers listed in the "mobile" field or marked as mobile.

Yes, it will not recognise the # as valid for SMS unless you have set it to be a "Mobile" number in the contacts list. Same for e-mail, if the address is not set as "Email" it won't recognise it as an email address.

Actually it doesn't seem to care how I set it. It will try to sms certain work numbers(Land lines) and will also sms mobile numbers labeled as work. It's really getting irritating. I've tried to call sprint numerous times, but to no avail. They're not too bright over there. Does anyone else have this problem!!?? Please Help!

Take out all the numbers that have a 1 in front and reset to a 10 digit phone number, even if it's in the same area code. ie (555) 555- 1212. Don't use a one in front. I called Treo support and they tracked all my SMS messages to find out what the problem was. The one in front of the numbers listed long distance in my contact file was the main problem.
