Has anyone noticed that as time goes on, your 650 resets more? I had 5 600s before this and had lots of quality issues, but it never reset as much as my 650. Also, my audio seems to be degrading as well. Any news on P1 addressing any of these issues?

I've read all of the work shadowmite has done on patches and hacks, but my 650 is bad enough without me meassing it up worse.

I've had my 650 since 11/29 and have only experienced 2 random resets, and both of those were when trying to get VersaMail working.

IMHO, continual reset problems have to be caused by incompatible apps more so than faulty hardware (though I'm sure there's some of that out there).

I've had fewer resets over time. And as MarkEagle pointed out, mine were 3rd party software problems.

I had a number of reset issues that, as you describe, increased in severity as time went on. Random resets were common. The culprit, it turned out, was a slowly currupting SD card. With my new SD card, no more problems at all.

This, of course, begs the question of why the SD card that I had been using for well over a year in my Treo 600 and for over a month in the 650 would slowly become corrupt in the 650. Perhaps it was the card reader and not the 650? Not sure.

In any event, I would suggest that anyone with severe reset issues, especially where problems increase in severity over time, look into the possibility that their SD card is the issue. Everytime the 650 tries to read/write to the card (or certain segments of the card if it is not entirely corrupt) the 650 will reset or hang ("white screen of death").

Actually, come to think of it, on occasion, my 650 does seem to reset itself at about 18:00 for some reason. Just happened, which is why i thought of it

    MIne resets most of the time.. The only apps i have are;

    Butler
    Agendus Pro
    Agendus Mail
    Avantgo

    THats it...

This is disgusting this thing needs to be alot more stable.

Darn, Mr. Faisal...after all that trouble you went through. I do seem to recall that Butler and Agendus are the very worst about causing resets. Dump 'em and see what happens....

I was gonna ask if you talked to your friend at PalmOne, but I checked your recent posts and saw that you did. Hey, they didn't fire her! Now if they would make HER head of customer service and troubleshooting, PalmOne might actually have all their problems solved. Wonder if we should all email Peter Skillman and Ed Colligan, and all the rest of the big boys and tell them to stop ragging on the poor girl, cuz she and you and Shadowmite are responsible for averting a TOTAL f*****g disaster with the TREO 650! Just a thought. Don't claim to be able to run PalmOne better than those minor dieties, but......

Same here. It will always reset if the 5 way center button is quickly pressed twice from the pull down menu on the back button. There are a several button combinations that resets, just can't remember them off hand.

Mine resets sometimes if I don't answer an incoming call.
I don't mean if I press ignore, I mean just look at the thing and don't touch it.

the funny thing about blazer is that it's almost always the right button on the 5way that spurs the reset. there are others as well but that is most common. I guess I need to do a manual reset. what's the best way to do this (in someone's experience). I don't want to lose my calender and contacts, but everything else I can reinstall.

Sure does! I tried that and it was quite easy to replicate the reset.

Well I visited a different Sprint Store today regarding the poor outgoing sound quality in phone calls and they agreed that the unit should be replaced. After 5 or 6 600s all I have to say is, here we go again

Versamail accounted for most of my headaches. Once I stopped using it, resets became pretty uncommon. That said, I'll take resets over outright hanging crashes. I've not had to open the battery cover and push that little button very often, fortunately... especially with the fancy case I'm using now.

A rash of resets generally follows anytime I install or try something new, but it settles down after a while. I'm really putting Snappermail through its paces now, and it hasn't been a problem.

Mine hasn't reset randomly in a week or so. Not in Blazer, not during hotsyncs, not during phone calls, not while just sitting there. All the resets I did have I could trace to incompatible software, which I removed or upgraded. It may take a while to track down, but I'm willing to bet those with frequent resets can solve them by figuring out what software is causing the problem. Here's a fairly complete list of what I have installed, just so you understand I'm not running a plane-jane Treo:

    Bejewled *
    Bejewled 2 (demo) *
    Butler 2.6 beta
    ClockPop5
    Cyptinfo
    DateBk5 v5.4a, p7
    Docs to Go
    Expense EZ*
    FileZ*
    FlightStatus*
    iRing*
    Kalaha*
    KBLightsOff
    KeyCaps600
    Java (for the 600 - it's a bit wierd)
    NotePad* (the Tungsten app)
    Palm Commander
    PocketProtector
    RPN* (calculator)
    Scrabble*
    SnapperMail
    SolFree*
    Solitaire*
    ThumbScan
    TreoGuard
    TreoHelper
    WebViewer
    Win-Hand
    Zap!2016*
    ZLauncher

    * These apps are installed to SD card

So, it is possible to load up the 650 with lots of software and still have a very stable device, as long as you pick your software carefully.

Now my new Treo will go through a series of beeps, four to be exact, every 10 minutes or so. Anyone else experience this? Also, before when I pressed on the home button it would cycle through the different categories. Not true anymore.

Has anyone else noticed that Facer PRO causes resets as well? I don't think it's quite ready for the treo 650.

Mine used to reset all of the time. I moved most all apps (over 200 or so) to the sd card with powerrun. Now I have 7.8megs left and am now using versamail too and I haven't had a reset in two weeks. I don't even have to take butler off before I hotsync anymore the new butler seems to work. It seems like the more and more ram I have left the more stable it runs.
