What the latest on Sprint's embrace of EVDO? That 200~300kbs is making me drool

Sprint is saying they will have EVDO in the 40 largest markets by July, the entire network by early 2006. They are also saying they may rollout 3Mb in late 2006.

BTW, I've been testing Verizon's EVDO card at work and it screams. Typically get 300-500K as claimed and sometimes higher bursts. One download I did actually got almost 100K Bytes/sec. Wow. Latency is also pretty good, 1-2 seconds.

I think the references to EVDO with Sprint are in the context of a PCMCIA card, but just to be clear: my understanding is that the Treo 650 will not support EVDO.
