    Hi,

You will only see the countdown (and HAVE the auto-redial feature) if you install TAKEphONE.

The reason I am asking this is to see if there is any point (commercially) to develop a stand-alone version of only this feature - I know people want it, but I also know a lot of people will not be able to use it, and have no way I can think of to avoid numerous angry emails of "you said auto-redial... why does it not work on my device..."

UPDATE: I'm using an unlocked GSM 650.
I too have an unlocked GSM 650 (Firmware 01.15; Software Treo650-1.06-ROW), and I get the onscreen message "Busy" with the option "Redial".

But if I click "Redial" the phone simply goes on to send the busy tone. Or maybe redials instantly and just once, still finding the busy condition. In any case the correct function of redialing periodically for some time, which is common in GSM phones, is absent on my Treo 650.

    Hi,

Correct - no wallpaper support in TAKEphONE - there is not much room for it with the "ABC" buttons.

Maybe I should add a background to the search list in future versions...

    Hi,

I have to admit - I put this a little low on my list right now, since I have found out there are lots of problems with it - some devices, on some carriers, when calling some numbers, do not report the busy signal at all !

I hesitate to develop and sell an application that may not be able to do the only thing it says it does...

Looks like WM5 beat us to it!! They have their own standalone auto-redial program, now if we could just see the code...hmmm....

Ok, I realize this post is 3 yrs old but seeing as there isnt a standalone app yet then figured I would weigh in again in case this is still on the radar. I know the developer mentioned not wanting to do this because he didnt want to get hate mail saying that the app didnt do the one thing it was supposed to, so how about making it full featured demoware so that a user could use it for X amount of days so they could see if it would work on their phone or not. Then those of us that it does work for would buy it. TakePhone just isnt something that I would personally use but the auto-redialer part... I am in for that!

You might want to take a(nother) look at TAKEphONE, it's an awesome app, and Shimon has done some WONDERFUL improvements over these years. You can trial it for (I think) 30 days.
    .

VERY happy user of these GREAT apps:

    TAKEphONE, 2day, 4cast, 2dial.
    Also check out the
TAKEphONE skins , TAKEphONE skins thread

I actually did a trial of it recently as I was looking for an app that did the auto-redial and this was the only one I could find. I played around with the app as well but honestly arent feature that I need. I'm not saying its a bad app by any means, just not for me. I ended up removing it and not paying for it because the only thing I wanted was the auto-redial and the rest to me was just clutter. Again, not bashing the app in any way just wasnt useful for me.

    Hi,

Sorry to disappoint you, but I cant see how I can allocate time for starting on a new app right now...

Thats ok, I understand. Thought I would just weigh in in case you were still holding it on the back-burner but guess you arent.
