Somehow one of my apps generated one memo per day, so I have hundreds of memos - how do I delete them all without doing them one at a time?

    try Edit, Select All, delete.

And yes, you need to do the same on the desktop

Unfortunately, there is no Edit, Select All, but doing it from the desktop makes sense and then have the desktop overwrite the handheld for memos.....

Just delete MemoDB using your favorite file manager. Much faster and you don't have to mess with the Palm Desktop, just sync and they will all be gone.
