On the BB, you can "pin" another BB user. Each BB has its own serial number that you can use to send a message directly to the BB, bypassing email and therefore not leaving a trail (except on BB). It's kinda similar to SMS, but there is no limitation on the message length and it has a dedicated subject line. And it's fast. Probably faster that SMS and certainly faster than email.

My question is whether there is any Treo client that can send a message to a BB pin.

Well, considering that it's problay proprietary BB programming, and because it leaves the mail server out of it, it must use a BB server, the chances of an outside device being able to do so is most likley impossible, at least until the BB connect is available, and even then, who knows.

I know I know. But I just love how people forget the voice functionality of this little device. As though its not usuable.

Afterall, a voice conversation between two phones is pretty safe and there would be no record of the actual conversation (other than the call log that shows the call took place).

Yea, but then you get wrapped up in the obligatory small talk and all that. Sometimes it's nice to be able to ask one sentence questions and get back one word answers.

You might want to read the recent articles on the fact that PIN'ing someone does leave a trail, unlike many had previously thought.
