I've read the vast number of posts and believe that I've covered all of them, but still haven't moved past my first error.

when i use the "test settings" button i receive a message that says: "Success!!! Accessed Server, but incorrect version."

    i'm running Exchange (2003) - 6.5.7226, SP1.

when i try the "sync" button i receive the following error: "There was a problem syncing messages. (0006)HTTP/1.0 405 Method Not Allowed Allow: OPTIONS, TRACE, GET, HEAD Content-Length: 1564 Content-Ty"

i have tried the various combinations of authentication schemes, virtual directory tricks, etc. and have still not moved past this first issue.

my OWA and OMA both work great.

thanks for any help or information.

Is there any kind of firewall, proxy, or ISA-type server in front of the Exchange Server?

There is a Firewall, hardware based - not ISA. I have ports 80 and 443 for http and https open...

I'm having the same problem. I know everything on the server side is working correctly since everyone else with smartphones are able to get their mail(Samsung i600's). When I test the sync it comes back fine with the incorrect version msg. but when doing a sync I get the "(0003)There was a problem connecting to server" error. We are using all new 2003 server builds with a ISA box.

I am pretty sure you need more ports than that...
