I was just upgraded by Sprint to a Treo 600 from a 300. The initial synch went well. I was trying to delete a dialpad I had downloaded and I think I may have deleted something important . Now whenever I select the Preference Icon The Phone soft Resets.

I have tried Hard,Soft and Warm resets and am unable to correct the problem. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Hello Dragonman_0206,

This is Kevin from palmOne. Do you have any third-party applications on your Treo 600? Were any moved from the 300 when you upgraded to the 600? The 600 includes many improvements and additions and some applications and peripherals that you used on your old handheld may not function properly on your new handheld and may be a source of erratic behavior.
Let me direct you to 3 palmOne Knowledge Library articles that may be of assistance.

    1. "Upgrading from a previous Palm OS® handheld"
    here

    2. "Diagnosing problems caused by third party applications"
    here

    3. "Resetting your device (Soft, System/Warm, Hard, In-Cradle, Power Down, Battery Disconnect, Zero Out)"
    here

This last article includes the Battery Disconnect Reset which, used in conjunction with renaming your backup folder as described in article #2, may resolve the issue

    Sincerely
    Kevin

    Dragonman,

Glad to hear you're on a 600! I agree--coming from a 300, it rocks. I had no idea how big a difference it would make. I'm using my Treo the way I used to use my Visor. I think that flip lid kept me so nervous about breaking it (and it was an additional step), I stopped using it as frequently.

BTW, when I first got my 600, I accidentally deleted all the ringtones because the 300 databases replaced the new one. I had that sudden "oh crap" feeling that I'm sure you just experienced!!

Nah, I just went and downloaded some new ones. I do miss my KISS midi tones though.
