OK, some background first. I was looking into getting a Sidekick II, so I went to a T-Mobile store to see if they had a working demo, they didn't (the only display was broken) but they did have the Treo 600 which is the same size as the 650. They are a lot smaller than I thought! I had reservations about the sidekick because of the lack of java support and bluetooth, so the 650 seems like a good option.

I currently use a Dell Axim x3i and I LOVE the PPC. I switched from a Palm IIIx to a Dell Axim x5 then to the x3i and I said I would never go back to Palm... Never say never! Have they improved the Palm OS to make it more powerful? My main uses for the 650 would be email, phone, PDA, and IM in that order with email and phone probably tieing for first. Can I check my gmail with the 650? How well does it sync with outlook? Is there an option to notify me of new incoming mail, and allow me to turn it on/off? I read somewhere that Palm cannot multitask, can it continually check email when I'm not using it? Can I sync with my home PC and my work PC? I use Code Wallet on my PPC to store passwords is there anything similar on the Palm side? How is the reception? One thing I like about my PPC device is it will continuously sync with Outlook, does Hot Sync do this now?

Lots of questions! Thanks for any help you can give me.

The 650 can do all of it.

I use agendus and it does pull mail without the machine being on.

Splash id is a good replacement for the Code wallet.

I currently sync with two machine.

Hot sync does not perform like active sync. you must manulaly start a sync.

Also, Causerie Messenger (www.mantragroup.com) is a great instant messenger.
