    Hello all.

Does anyone have the Treo 650 working with Linux?

I've been trying to get Linux (Gentoo, kernel 2.6.9 w/ udev) to recognive the 650, but the system doesn't even seem to detect that the device has been plugged in -- very strange. I have plenty of other USB hot pluggable devices working w/ the system, but the Treo just doesn't seem to show up.

    Thanks for any help.

    I found a few threads:

But I am still running into some trouble. I made sure my kernel had the visor module installed and have 'usbserial' and 'visor' set in my autoload file. When I hit the hotplug button the follow msg pops up in my log file:

Dec 26 13:58:45 [kernel] usb 4-2: new full speed USB device using address 4
Dec 26 13:58:45 [kernel] visor 4-2:1.0: Handspring Visor / Palm OS converter detected
Dec 26 13:58:45 [kernel] usb 4-2: Handspring Visor / Palm OS converter now attached to ttyUSB0
... and eventually the disconnect when I kill the connection or it times out:

Dec 26 13:59:23 [kernel] visor ttyUSB0: Handspring Visor / Palm OS converter now disconnected from ttyUSB0
Dec 26 13:59:23 [kernel] visor ttyUSB1: Handspring Visor / Palm OS converter now disconnected from ttyUSB1
The trouble is, /dev/ttyUSB0 (or /dev/ttyUSB*) never appears. Can anybody offer any suggestions?
