    Hey,

I would like to play some .mpg, avi and mov files on my phone. For some reason I thought that mmplayer did this.. I am obviously wrong. So.. I searched and all I have found is:
    http://www.tealpoint.com/softmovi.htm
TealMovie.. its OK I guess.. but I have to MANUALLY convert movies.. which obviously sucks. Is there some (other) software out there that does this ?

    Thanks!

At least on Mac OS X there is a "Send to Handheld" droplet that got installed that converts certain movies to a format that the Pics and Video application can play. That worked for most Quicktime clips. I'm sure PC has something similar.

Also, Kinoma Producer and Kinoma Player are a good suite for this sort of thing, with many more options. I just bought their holiday bundle and am playing with it.
(Kinoma Player also plays AAC files, which is great for iTunes users!)

MMPlayer does allow you to play avi movies, and you can use VirtualDub (or similar programs) to convert from other formats to avi

'MMplayer" is best for playing avi movies on your Treo650 and DVDs can be converted to small sized avi's via a fantastic piece of software (to put on your PC) called "Pocket DVD Studio". They are both really great for getting movies on your 650. We all love them.

That's a cool tip on the Mac OS X 'droplet'. Of course now I spent 45 minutes trying to find a downloadable U2 iPod ad without success. I sure wish the iTunes music video's were downloadable.
