    Hi,

And I guess TAKEphONE does work with Versamail, too ?

I would say this is something to do with ChatterMail, then.
Have you contacted the developer ?

I will check it on my end.

    Hi Shimon,

AWESOME enhancements to the new TAKEphONE!

    The searching is amazing!

    Two questions:

    1) I thougth v 124 supported the green phone button on the 700P. I would like to have the green button activate TAKEphONE and let the other phone button bring up the regular dialer. It doesn't seem that the green button does anything - and I can set the preference to map the other phone button - but even that doesn't affect the green phone button. I know I could probably do this by buying LudusP LudusP, but before I do that I thought I would check with you.

    2) Does TAKEphONE support Agendus? I know it supported Agendus 8, but does it support the current v 11? I don't currently use Agendus - tried it a few years ago and it was to bloated and I REALLY dislike the fact that it does not (at least if I understand correctly) utilize the built in databases - so a lot of the programs I have that access those databases can't work (thus my question on TAKEphONE). I'm considering trying it again, however, since it gives me more phone number options - I often run out of options for phone numbers/email addresses for a contact... and I like the new Agendus To-Do's. I won't waste my time, however if TAKEphONE doesn't work with it. In a way, I'm hoping you say it doesn't because I don't want to really use it.

    Thanks,

    Keith

p.s. It might be interesting to consider adding the features from the TreoCallLogTool (http://www.ranosoft.net/tclt/index.html) into TAKEphONE.

    Hi,

Support for the green button does not mean launching TAKEphONE when pressing it. Since the system does not allow for such a setting, this would require "hacking" it (which I guess is what Lodus does).

What it does support is using the Green button from within TAKEphONE to make calls.

To access both TAKEphONE and the built-in dialer, you can have TAKEphONE launch the built-in dialer when you press & HOLD the PHONE button.
This way - a short press will always launch TAKEphONE, and a long press - the dialer.

Regarding Agendus - not sure what you mean by supporting - TAKEphONE will let you make calls from all phone fields of the built-in contacts database, as well as from all "custom" fields.

You can even put more than one phone number within one phone fields (seperated by CR).

    Hey - that's great ideas !
Seem to be well implemented, too.

TAKEphONE ois not meant to complete with that, though...

    Shimon,

Thanks so much for the quick response and good solutions.

I'd really like to link the green phone button to TAKEphONE and the regular phone button to the regual dialer (or vice versa). I think I'll try LudusP to see if it can make that possible.

On the Agendus, I guess I just assumed that it did not utilize the built in database - thougth it used it's own contacts database. That's why I wondered if TAKEphONE would work with it. Guess I was wrong on that. Interesting, may be worthwhile to explore Agendus again.

Glad you like the ideas Treo Call Log ideas.

Is TakePhone out of Beta? I noticed it is no longer listed on the Beta page of the shsh.com web site. We should celebrate the milestone.

    Indeed.

When I get older and richer, I will hold a "TAKEphONE users conference" somewhere ...

Interesting. I might be wrong, but I wouldn't expect TAKEphONE to have any affect on the volume buttons. Could it have been some other software?

There are bunches of programs that have the option of using the side buttons. Maybe another utility did something? Ben

    Hi,

First I would try removing TAKEphONE, to see if this resolves the issue.
As a rule, TAKEphONE does not handle the side buttons on the Treo.

For all of you using TAKEphONE on a 700p, you might want to consider a little $5 app called LudusP which allows you to relink all of the icon buttons on your phone. I like to be able to go the built in dialer - primairly to access my favorites - at times, so I linked that to the green send button. I usually use TAKEphONE when I'm ready to dial, so I linked that to my regular phone button icon. Works like a charm - I can easily access either - and I no longer have two buttons that do the same thing

    Highly recommended.

I very rarely use the phone app. I have the TAKEphONE mapped to the phone button and if I want favorites I just hit the phone button twice. But I agree that LudusP is a great piece of software. I have my Green button mapped to the Command Bar.

I noticed that if I dial a number that has a hard pause in it, I can't use re-dial and get the hard pause. I just get the part up to the pause. I am doing the redial that I get with a long press on the phone button. But if I go to the "Redial" screen/tab and select the first entry, I do get the hard pause. So can we get an option for the long-press to select either the last dialed # from the call log OR the last number from TAKEphONE's Redial list.

I realize that the downside of this is that with the new option enabled, you couldn't long-press to redial a number that you dialed from another app such as VoiceDial.

    Thanks

Speaking of dialing... Does TAKEphONE automatically register itself as the default dialer app or does that need to be specified?? I noticed that if I dial a number from Chatter or Directory Assistant, that the number doesn't show up in TAKEphONEs Redial list. Should it?? I am guessing that these programs are just calling the built-in dialer. But I don't know if that is because they don't bother to look if another dialer is registered, or if TAKEphONE isn't registered. The "Prefs" app lets me choose whic Email or Web app is the default, but there is no way to select the default dialer.

    P.S. This is on a Treo 700.

I'm noticing that a long contacts note in TAKEphONE can be viewed but not edited directly by "tapping on the note." Shorter notes can be edited no problem, but the longer ones need to be opened with the Contacts app (which can be done via TAKEphONE). The notes that cannot be edited aren't all that long but I'm suspecting that I'm running into a memory limitation on the Treo. It's one more step to do this and no big deal but, is this behavior normal, and if so, what is the limitation on the size of the note?

    Thanks.

    Hi,

You are correct - there is no definition of a "Default dialer app", so most apps will call the built-in dialer directly...
