    Hi,

I just loaded the beta b007 and I still see the problem when dialing with calling cards. TakePhone passes the number to the phone application, it starts to dial, but as soon as the call becomes "active", it hangs up and returns to the phone main screen.

    Adiascar.

P.D. Never mind my previous comments about getting extra keys in the input buffer, that was JeffGibson's BTMute program trying to navigate to the Mute button and pressing it twice. Since the call was ending prematurely, BTMute was navigating the speed dial buttons.

[If there are no matches, then I have no way of knowing what characters I typed. Example: I type in "ASDF", the search displays <no matches>. I don't know if there is no entry or if I typed something wrong. I liked the old version (on my i500) I could which characters were typed.

    >>> Sorry - I needed the space...

I don't think this is a trivial thing. Since Takephone can remember the last search, this can be very frustrating if there were bad characters entered. It's not just me, other people have commented that they wanted the view of entry back. If I am not using the on-screen keyboard, there is no way for me to know how many times I have to press bksp on the keyboard to erase the entry.

Also, I posted in an earlier email.. I find the reverse characters a little hard to read. Can you make this an option or something? The underline and dotted line are fine.

-What does the side button on the Treo 650 do with Takephone? When using it with Takephone it doesn't allow me to use voicedial even though I have voicedial assigned to this button. It seems to do some type of search.

    >>> I am not handling it. Can you help ?
    >>> Install and run the attached Keytest utility, then tap the "Keys ON"
    >>> button on right. Now press that side button, and tell me what you see.

Takephone seems to do something with it, because the Find screen changes when I press it the side button. I get the folling with your Key program:
    161F, E008, 808

-This is more of an enhancement.. on the Dial/Create screen.. it would be good if you can add a phone number to an existing contact as well as creating a new entry. If I'm in the middle of a phone call. I want one place to type in a phone number that someone is reading me. Then I can decide if it's new or updated after the call. I can do this in the palm memo pad, but it would be nice to do it within takephone

    >>> Find the record, go to it's "Details" screen, and you can edit.

I know... That's a more manual process. If I started out just entering a phone number in the Dial/Create screen. Which I'd like to do, because the keypad is easier to use then memopad. Then I either have to copy and paste it, or remember it. Then go into the find screen and find the contact. then paste the number.

I was thinking it would be cool if the number could be added to an existing contact from within the dial/create screen. Not important, but step saving.

    Hi,

    Your script says: "555-555-5555,,,,,N" ?

Can you try changing it to "555-555-5555xN" and let me know
    what happens ?

    Thanks

    mogulman -

    1. I will try to figure out a way (and place) to display it.
And maybe I'll add that "invert/underline" option.

    2. Side button - thanks for testing. Are you sure the middle
    thing is E008 ?

    3. Say you entered the number in the Dial/Create screen.
How would you locate the record you want to add it too ?

    Thanks.

    I would love to... but I can't!

I went to edit the calling card entry, and I couldn't get my cursor out of the "Rule 1" field. No matter where I tapped or if I tried using the 5-way, the cursor wouldn't leave that field. I tried deleting the entry and creating a new one, but now the cursor won't leave the "Name" field.

    Any suggestions?

P.D.: While trying diferent things to try to get the cursor out of those fields, I noticed that the Backspace key toggles the "Caps" mode, while the Return key turns Caps on. The two Shift keys and the Special key work fine.

    2. Side button - thanks for testing. Are you sure the middle
thing is E008 ? Positive. <This is a real problem because voice signal voice dial can not be launched if Takephone is running. Every other App, Voice dial works fine>. On the Treo 650, in the Preferences you can change what applications launch from this button.

    3. Say you entered the number in the Dial/Create screen.
How would you locate the record you want to add it too ?

<again, this is an enhancement (bottom of any importance list), but maybe when you click OK, or <right> on the 5 way, one of the options could be Lookup by name instead of number.

Or better yet, when you click the "Add to Book" option, maybe it can search when using this form, before you create. Otherwise, you could potentially add a duplicate entry to the contact list. Maybe a button nexto the name field that lets you search for the name in your contact list, and then at the bottom, there is "Create", "Add to existing" (or something shorter like that), Cancel, Create and Edit.

Considering this beta is specifically designed to run on the 650 I wonder why you would have upgraded if you have a 300. Seems logical to me that you would have problems.

    Thanks Shimon,

The calling card feature is working now. A couple of details to smooth out:
    1. I can't move between fields with the 5-way when adding/editing a calling card. Usually hitting the 5-way to the right at the end of the field takes the cursor to the next field.
    2. When I move to the "Script" field, the default is "Caps on". Shouldn't it be "Num Lock"? Scripts will usually start with a number, Right?
    3. Same as above for the "Rule #" fields.
    4. In the "Preferences" screen, I can use the 5-way Up and Down to move between forms (Find -> Display -> Using... and so on). I would expect the 5-way Left and Right to allow me to move between fields in the form I selected.

In the TakePhone manual, the section about calling cards doesn't clearly explain the functionality of T, P and X in scripts. It mentions that T will "wait a little" and that Treo users should always use X.
    a) Who long is "a little"? 2 seconds? 1.764 Seconds? It helps to know when fine-tuning scripts.
    b) I'm sure there's a good reason, it would be very helpful if you include an explanation of why Treo users cannot simply have a "T" in the script so we don't get a prompt to continue the script. Take my example: I use JeffGibson's BTMute to fix the volume of my BT car kit while I'm driving. In short, BTMute will screw up things if there are buttons in the screen different than those of the normal phone call screen. If I can have my script to automatically wait a few seconds and then send the rest of the script with no prompt, I can use BTMute along with TakePhone.
    c) What does P do?
