If anyone else is having a hard time doing what Attas described, all you have to do is click on the calendar hard button, press the "oval" option button and type in your appointment time. That's all you have to do.

Further, what's really cool if you have DateBook Plus is you can type in the EXACT time of the appointment, to the minute. So, you'd open up the calendar function with the hard button, press the "Option" key once, and type in 8-1-3 for example and your appointment time is now set for 8:13 and you can start typing the appt text.

YOU WROTE: <i>You can record your own sounds for tones when you use the "new" choice in the sound prefs. </i>

I couldn't find that. Can you give more info on how to do it?

It's possible that this function may be missing for some versions of the Treo 650, but my unlocked GSM model has it: Launch Preferences, select "Sound & Alerts", then "Tones"...at the bottom of the screen, you should see the "New" button.

Has anybody figured this one out?
I just read through the 250 posts in this forum to see if anyone could answer this perplexing question above. I have called palm support on numerous occasions asking different tech people if they know the answer to this or why the new version of Messaging removed this option. I've spent hours trying to figure out a way to jump to the next message without going back and forth all the time, to no avail.

Anyone figured this one out yet?

This is an excellent forum filled with many goodies. Thanks for all your contributions.

One from me: If you go to edit favorite pages, you can tap and hold any one of the choices and drag it to a different location or one of the other 5 pages in favorite pages. This is very helpful when you want to move the default pages from palm and install some of your own favorite buttons without deleting the original favorite button.

Yes, Crenshaw offered a great option on one of the earlier pages of this thread that I've been using. It works very well as an alternative to what we all liked so well with the 600. The removal of this function joins the long list of stupid things left out or changed from the 600 to the 650 (another one is the idiotic limit of 1000 previous calls in the call log, but I digress). Here is Crenshaw's post:

WOW! Great stuff. I remember a similar thread like this with the 600 started by Burkhardi. So far what I picked from thirteen pages and made my favorite tips were the ability to hit "Option=Power-on to disable/enable keyguard; Hitting the delete button (left arrow straight) in Blazer to go back to a page; (I used to always hit the menu then choose "back") and my favorite is saving any pic in blazer by holding the image and having the option to save to internal otr external memory. Um, I don't remember seeing this one but if you want to dim your phone like you could do with the 600, without the brightness-adjust bar, you could just hit option+arrow up button next to the Alt button. I like this one as it is faster than adjusting and dims the keyboard simutaneously.(yes, I have kblights-off but at night it's cool to have some kb light) Sorry if someone already mentioned this.

On my old Palm, if I held down the phone button, it would beam out my business card via the infra red port to the palm of whoever was standing next to me. To do this now I seem to need to go to contacts, select menu and then select beam businees card (or M). Does the treo let me beam the card in one swoop? Can I even program a one key favorite to do this?

  14. #254
If you hit the menu key then M it will beam your business card, not quite one button, but close.

Don't remember seeing this posted, but if you go to your fav. website, copy the url, put it in your phone favorites you don't have to go to the web, find your bookmarks and wait. It takes you straight there.

I'm sure everyone knows this one already, but I only just figured it out:

From most programs you can press Menu + L to perform a 'phone lookup'. Useful for inserting numbers into messages (except it doesn't work with Messaging - d'oh!)

I just have it go to my bookmarks when I open the web, and then I don't have to wait for anything to load. That is, until I select the web page that I want.

I have it start with a blank page. So I can go to my Bookmarks or a URL of my choice immediately.

Is the opt button, the one next to the Z, If so, I have not figured out how to get that to work. It still requires that I press the center button to unlock
