    this is BS...
I am in NYC and I get 26kbit/sec maximum.
    Any ideas?
I have the 19.99 media plan through Cingular and I know I'm in a good area.

Has anyone else been experiencing very strange results on this speed test page. I get garbage at the end of the test. I also have not been able to get the high 100kb+ speeds as I did when I first posted my results...

I did lose internet access and had to call Cingular support!?! I wonder if they changed something on the back end....

Still choking along at <30k in SoCal with Blazer.
Xiino is getting a Proxy error.

Don't use Xiino for this, it's completely off. I've gotten 360-500K with Xiino in the past, before I discovered it eats up bytes due to it's own proxy compression BS.

Attached see what kind of "results" you'll get if you use Xiino for this type of testing.

How do you know if you're in an EDGE covered area. Do I just have fast gprs access at 91kbits or slow/non edge conneciton? Is there any way to tell? I have a feeling that the coverage map might be a bit more spotty than the cingular map shows. Any thoughts?

I am also in NYC, and this morning I was crawling just like you in the mid 20's. I just did the 100k test and the result was 122 kbit/sec. When I did the 200k test I received a result of 91 kbit/sec. The 600k test gave me 136 kbit/sec. Definitely better than this morning although the variance between the 100k, 200k & 600K make me wonder how accurate this test really is.

You should try your test again and see what numbers come up.
