I saw a few posts from a month or two ago about Sprint TV (MobiTV). Has anyone heard if this service is (or going to be) available on the 650?

I posted the query over on the multimedia section with no luck.

I'm aware of the link and that the service works on the Samsung MM-A700. I was wondering if anybody knew if, and when, this service might be available for the 650...

Sprint TV does not work on the 650 but Mobi TV does. The Sr people at sprint call it a "slideshow" at best.

Maybe you should spend more time learning how to spell 'waste' while you're in class instead of watching TV!

Sorry, I couldn't help myself as I site here at work and west time at Treocentral!

So that demo on the MobiTV web site is really all you get? About 1 frame per second?

ON other Sprint phones, yes. About 1 frame a second. Now if you are watching CNN or something of the sort, where the object you are viewing is stationary, (ie: news cast) then it works ok at best, of course the video quality on other phones will not match the 650's. Hopefully we will be able to get better than one frame a second, because if not, forget about watching something like football, or whatever.

HOPEFULY, we will know soon when they will be releasing it.

There is a distinct difference between Mobi TV and Sprint TV. Mobi is more like a slide show and Sprint TV is like Streaming Video. The Treo 650 does not have the second antenna needed for Sprint TV.

Second antenna? What? I'm pretty sure they only have the single 1900 MHz radio in them. So why would Sprint TV enabled phones need a different antenna? I'm almost 100 percent certain that Sprint TV is just an application that accesses Sprint's 1xRTT data network.

Please correct me if I'm wrong.
